Starlight_Yan

But through some sheer luck, he was one of the lucky souls to be chosen to serve the Death as her mercenaries saving him from the neverending suffering. From then on, he promised to serve Death with his unwavering loyalty. But Raen's luck quickly got cut off. As Death's Mercenaries, they are tasked to help Death kill the souls of those people who's life finally comes to an end. And because he's not a master cultivator unlike the other souls, he's not capable of doing his job. He would fail even the easiet mission, failing to claim the life of his every target. Because of this, he was stripped of his job as a mercenary and got demoted to an errand boy, still better than suffering from an endless pain. As an errand boy, here he spend a century of his life cutting and trimming the grass outside the Palace of Death. But through this hundred years, he did not falter. So what if he's an errand boy? He will still do his best to serve Death with his whole loyalty, unnoticed or not. But one day, a fated event happened. Raen was trimming a beautiful statue of Death made by ashed colored grass. When—a black stone fell from the skies hitting directly on his trimmed statue. And in the center of it is a gorgeous lady, dressed in black and holding a big scythe. The woman was Death—Elaris Nocturne—battered, betrayed, and on the brink of vanishing. The heavens had broken the ancient pact and tried to erase her. With her strength nearly gone, she reached out to the only soul nearby. Raen, ever loyal, didn’t hesitate. He offered to help in any way he could. With a soft laugh and a dying breath, she kissed him and whispered, “Then, I choose you.” Instead of death, her soul slipped into his, passing all her memories and abilities to him. Now, Raen Glorfill, once an errand boy with no power, carries the will of Death. To save her, he must rise above his limits, harvest the souls of those listed in the Death List and grow strong enough to challenge the gods who tried to kill her. From the shadows of the Underworld to the chaos of the Overworld, a forgotten soul begins a journey fueled by loyalty, vengeance, and undying love.
