Ending his Skype conference, Conan hears Ais sarcastic remark. Only now after shutting down his table does he realize that all his woman aside from the still missing Sonoko has joined him for breakfast.

Having seen today's events, Emanuel is really glad to be gay, as he knows, that if he had any unclean ideas regarding any of his employer's women, he would be dead or worse.

Having been forced to end the breakfast show prematurely, as the landline suddenly started ringing, Conan was in a bad mood. Hearing the man's voice slightly slur the next words, Conan deduces, that the caller is slightly drunk. ''... I had a fight with Yukiko... your mother. Boy, I think this time we will not make it through... I am a failure as a husband and a father... Agasa told me about your situation, but your mother doesn't...'' Hearing the phone hit the floor, Conan is able to make out Yusaku Kudo last words before the recording ends. ''... Now your mother is missing... I will... home... few days... We... to talk...''
Looking up from the answering machine, Conan realizes that somehow his face has become wet. Wiping away the tears running down his face, he spots Ai, back being a fourteen year old.
''Ai, sorry I don't have the time for your seduction...'' He states, turning back on his tablet. ''... I have to finish the take over of 'Ishimura Pharmaceutics', before the company's funds are released, otherwise, I would still only be a shareholder.''
Blushing like the little girl she currently is, Ai murmurs. ''Idiot, I am not here to seduce you... again!''
''Why are you bothering me then?'' Asks Conan having heard her while looking up from his tablet.
''I would like to check out the company's laboratories, seeing that I will take over their research division to produce and research APTX drugs further...'' Ai states, before showing him the hard drive. ''... Thanks for your present by the way. It felt good to see my parents faces again, be it only in pictures.
''You are welcome...'' Conan tells her, showing his biggest smile. ''... As for you leading the research division, let's talk about that at a later date.''
Smiling sheepishly Ai asks. ''Can I at least check out the laboratories and 'borrow' some equipment?''
Seeing his little lover request his consent and feeling a little guilty for being a little too rough with her last night, Conan concedes, saying. ''Okay, you win. But first, let me call the laboratories!''
Smiling like a child getting what it wants, Ai hugs him. ''Thanks, sweetie!''
Nearly three hours later Ai together with Ran enter the high-security laboratories of Ishimura Pharmaceutics. Especially Ai is in high spirits. Considering that he spent most of her life in laboratories such as this, it is not really surprising that she is like a fish in water.
As they are inspecting the facility and I am occupied with sticking neon yellow sticky notes on every machine she deems necessary for her home laboratory. Unknown to them they are watched ever since entering the building, by somebody other than the security guards.
Inside a locked storage room, sitting in front of a monitor is an around seventy-year-old, silver-haired man smoking a cigarette. Seemingly deep in though he starts to inputting number into his cellphone, his eyes zeroing in on Ai.
''Any problem Pisco? Aren't your orders to simply guard our secret research data?'' Asks a female voice the elder in a slightly annoyed tone of voice.
Making a hurt face, Pisco tells the woman. ''You know what... forget I ever called!''
Ending the call, the elder is sure to have recognized Ai ad Shiho's childhood form. Even without Vermouth's explicit orders, he is hell band on getting on the bottom of this.
Unaware of the impending danger, Ai drags Ran from one laboratory to the next. Like a child in a toy store, she seems to always find something absolutely necessary for her research.
''I don't think that everything will fit into your laboratory!'' Remarks Ran, seeing Ai put her last sticky note on a huge monster of a machine.
Smiling sheepishly Ai explains. ''I know, but I don't count on getting everything. Only getting a fraction of al marked equipment is already more than...''
Witnessing His face suddenly change color, Ran instantly gets a bad feeling. Looking around she is unable to make out anything threatening. Some lab assistants are joking around at the other end of the lab and a kind looking elderly researcher with silver hair seems to be doing his work.
Returning her look to Ai, Ran can see the girl slightly tremble in fear. ''What is it Ai? Please tell me!''
Shacking her head while remaining paralyzed, as Ais now tear-filled eyes focus on something behind Ran. Registering some movement directly behind her, Ran turns around while hearing Ai whisper horrified. ''Grandpa Pisco!''
Coming face to face with the elderly researcher, she had previously dismissed, Ran suddenly feels disoriented and her view narrows, as her body suddenly collapses and she hits the hard floor previously beneath her feet.
