The arc moved fast toward Kanxin, but the rapier came at me even faster.
Kanxin has a shield, while I didn't. It is making use of that, attacking us from both fronts with powerful attacks.
Seeing me defending its attack, it wants to kill someone. I could see in its eyes that it would think; I pulled my shield back to defend myself.

"How?" it asked, shocked.
"I have two shields," I replied with the obvious expression.
It may be obvious, but it is hard to believe. The shields are a powerful defensive method. No one would expect they would have more than one.
