The tallest tree in a forest is always a good target. If for whatever reason you reach a position of significant power or value, there will be countless people waiting to just stab you in the back. You'll have your enemies and your rivals trying to kill you. Maybe even family or friends that want to usurp your position.
Worst of all, oftentimes these positions can't even be left without dying.
