Later that day...
Following the end of the briefing and classes being canceled for the rest of the week in preparation for the reselection of representatives for Project X on Friday. The campus temporarily embraced a moment of quietness compared to its usually noisy and rambunctious atmosphere.
However, amidst this silence danger lurked at every corner and deadly plans were brewing in the darkness. Plans that could dispute the already weakened infrastructure of FB, if they come to fruition but with how things are that will not be happening anytime soon.
Nevertheless, it is always better to be safe than sorry, but then again that is a problem for the future and not the present as seen by the actions of the various professors of Forbidden Blood.
Who could be seen playing volleyball, making kebabs, and drinking sake while enjoying this rare time of relaxation on Winter Beach. Where the sand was as white as snow and resembled a snowflake. Yet, amidst this joy and contagious playful atmosphere as indie music played in the background, somehow things just always returned to work and Project X.
"So, who do you guys, think will become the last man standing at Project X?" A professor of the martial arts department asked curiously after his team secured a win against the alchemy department's team of misfits.
"Hmm, there are a few names that stand as top contenders for the position. However, honestly, it depends on too many factors to determine a final contestant," someone said after thinking about it as they continued to build a sandcastle of Gotham.
"Like what, Charles? Also, if you had to narrow it down, who would be the top three finalists for Project X?" Ms. Serene asked after putting down her magazine, unaware of the lustful gazes directed at her. Due to the two-piece blue and white bathing suit, she was wearing which embraced her body and showed off her curves.
"Well, since you put me on the spot, I would have to say, Rin Kurama, the Crown Prince of the Cerulean Empire, and Timothy Colorado," Charles said with a smile as everyone looked at him with disbelief.
"Okay, now I can understand the Crown Prince of the Cerulean Empire, but who the fuck is Timothy Colorado, Charles?" Niko asked even though the name sounded familiar.
"He is the best friend of your student, Rin Kurama, who to my knowledge has begun to make some waves in No Man's Land, after being taken as the last disciple of Malcolm Winchester," Charles replied slowly as this was still fairly new information, which had yet to be made known to the public.
"Now that is unexpected… but still, while I can appreciate the boldness and courage to list Timothy and Rin; can't you be a bit more serious? For there's no way you can list them but not Smith Winchester (the ninja demon of wind and lightning), Wendell Stone (the incarnation of a Goddess), or even Felicia Humming (the Princess of Necromancy)." Joe Joe, father of Matt Joe, and a professor within the magic department exclaimed.
"... while those are all pretty impressive, individuals, why don't we all expand our scope to those outside of our country? Who are just as strong, if not stronger than even the mysterious children from the new head clan of Japan?" Abigail said, considering she recently heard that England produced a magical genius not seen in a thousand years.
Whose talent could rival the Sage of Denver and other talented magically inclined people through history like Dr. Omni, Tracer, and Bob Jakal of Myriad Curses. Who all shocked the world and became legends in their own making as they revolutionized magic and transformed the perception of the dark arts to something more expansive and limitless in its uses.
For magic is not just a language but a force of nature, which could alter and manipulate the very fabric of reality to the wimps and desires of its user. But while great it also has its pros and cons, for power is not a ridged structure like a bridge between two points.
But a shapeshifting energy that follows the intent of its creator, that can be either docile or violent, depending on what you desire and are trying to accomplish.
"Hmm while true, Abigail, I also believe that our country's younger generation has the highest potential and creativity among the world's elites. That if given enough time could surprise everyone and lead to an interesting National Dive and training camp experience. For while folks like Rin Kurama, Wendell Stone, Felicia, and many others may be weak now; who's to say that in a year's timeframe or shorter they couldn't reach the top like Jack Cerulean, Dante Oscan, Naomi Winter, and Fredo Hall."
Calvin said out of nowhere with a smile as he stood before his colleagues and friends while eating ice cream and wearing a pair of black shorts with a white open-collar shirt.
"Tsk, while true, Mister Vice President isn't that still a biased and skewed opinion?" Ms. Serene said for while it was true their students may have the potential and creativity to reach the top, what is the point of potential if they cannot turn it into immediate power?
Considering a war is not won on how much you can delay the inevitable but, on the power, you hold now, which allows you to call the shots and do what others can't.
"While it may be skewed, I still believe our students could make waves even if they may be on the weaker side right now. So instead of considering who the winner of Project X will be, why not try and increase the chances of our students standing out and stealing the show?" Calvin said as he gazed at all the teachers of Forbidden Blood, before walking into the Sunset and allowing the wind to take him to his next destination.
Unaware of the fire he lit within the hearts and minds of his colleagues, who all gazed at each other before nodding in agreement and returning to campus.
Bringing an end to this rare moment of relaxation as everyone used the remaining time to prepare their students for Friday's Reselection.
