"Well done Peter, you have achieved a good grade but now it is the final test. Are you ready to graduate from primary school?" Naruto sat on a tree branch and looked at him as he was sleeping on the grass.
Peter moved his gaze towards him, "What kind of test?"
Peter asked such as he had fought in different conditions, filled with traps or to protect someone etc.
"It's a duel where you have to win against Sasuke here." Naruto replied as young Sasuke the fresh graduate from the academy walked out.
Peter stood in the clearing, his breath steady as he looked at Sasuke—young, fresh from the academy, but still a Uchiha. He had fought tougher opponents before, but that didn't mean he would let his guard down.
After everything Naruto had put him through—the beatings, the endless spars, the brutal training—he knew better than to underestimate anyone, especially not a child from the Naruto world.
And now, Naruto had thrown him into a test to see if he was truly ready to move forward.
Peter's senses flared. He didn't need his Spidey-Sense to tell him that Sasuke was already moving.
SHING!
Kunai whistled through the air, cutting through the wind with deadly precision.
Too easy.
Peter twisted, dodging before his feet even touched the ground, his instincts honed to perfection. His hands flicked out—FWIP!—shooting a web at Sasuke mid-movement.
But the Uchiha was fast.
KATON: HOUSENKA NO JUTSU!
Small fireballs shot toward him, burning through the web.
Peter flipped backward, avoiding them effortlessly. His agility had skyrocketed since training under Naruto, and it felt like second nature now.
Alright, time to test something new.
He shot a second web, but this time, it curved mid-air, a trick he had mastered after integrating chakra into his webbing.
Sasuke's eyes widened in surprise as the web latched onto his arm and leg.
Peter didn't hesitate. He yanked.
Sasuke stumbled forward, and in that moment, Peter fired a dense web blast, covering Sasuke's entire body before the Uchiha could react.
"Tch!" Sasuke struggled, but the more he fought, the tighter the webbing became.
Peter landed lightly in front of him, placing a hand on his hip.
"Yeah, if this were someone stronger, I'd be toast," Peter admitted. "But you're just fresh out of the academy, so…"
He crouched and cut out the section of the web covering Sasuke's face, letting him breathe.
"It's over," Peter said simply.
Naruto, still perched on a tree branch, smirked as he clapped his hands.
"Not bad, Peter. You used your skills efficiently instead of brute force. That's what I wanted to see."
Peter exhaled, standing up straight. He wasn't cocky—he knew he had won because of the gap between them.
But then Naruto's smirk widened.
"Now comes the real test."
Peter felt a chill go down his spine.
"You have two choices," Naruto continued. "You can fight Curse Mark Sasuke… or One-Tail Naruto."
Peter felt his stomach drop.
Those two were monsters compared to him. He had fought Curse Mark Sasuke before—and lost miserably. That wasn't even mentioning One-Tail Naruto, whose sheer ferocity and power dwarfed anything Peter had faced so far.
Even with his new abilities, there was no way he could win.
Peter swallowed.
"I… I'll take the test later," he admitted.
Naruto grinned. "Good choice. Sometimes, the smartest move is knowing when not to fight. That's called wisdom."
Naruto hopped down from the tree, tossing a black package to Peter.
"This is your graduation gift. It's all the basics you'll need moving forward."
Peter opened it and found:
A new black suitWeb shootersSmoke bombsKunai and a tanto10 healing pills10 chakra pills10 Spider-TracersA week's worth of web fluid
Peter whistled. "You really went all out, huh?"
Naruto shrugged. "Nothing fancy—just the essentials. You'll have to improve them yourself. That's part of the journey."
Then, Naruto's eyes gleamed mischievously.
"Oh, and one last thing."
Peter tilted his head.
"In your world, there are two rare metals: Vibranium and Adamantium. Black Panther and Wolverine use them."
Peter's eyes widened.
"If you can get your hands on both," Naruto continued, "I'll help you forge the ultimate Spider-Man suit. A suit that will be leagues beyond anything you've ever worn."
Peter exhaled sharply. That… that was something worth chasing.
"Thanks, Naruto," he said, his voice full of determination.
Naruto chuckled, ruffling Peter's hair. "No problem, kid. But from now on, you're on your own. I won't be stepping in to help anymore. This is your journey."
Peter nodded.
"I understand."
As he turned to leave, the weight of everything he had gained—and everything he still had to do—settled in.
This was just the beginning.
Peter stood in his room, stretching as he processed everything that had happened. The training with Naruto had been brutal—his body had broken countless times, but now, it had grown stronger than ever. He felt refreshed, like every fiber of his being had been perfectly optimized for combat and agility.
He clenched his fist. The raw power, speed, and flexibility flowing through him felt unreal.
'This is… insane,' he thought, feeling his muscles respond instantly to his commands. I don't think I've ever felt this strong before.
Then his eyes landed on Jessica Drew, still asleep on his bed, curled up under the covers.
She had been through a lot yesterday. Seeing her now—peaceful, completely at ease—was a rare sight.
But still… she had slept for too long.
"Time to wake up," Peter muttered, walking over.
He placed a hand on her shoulder and shook her lightly.
"Jess, wake up."
She groaned, burying her face deeper into the pillow.
"One more minute…" she mumbled.
Peter sighed, gently tapping her cheek.
"Jess, it's me. Peter."
There was a pause. Then she yawned and cracked one eye open, looking at him with a groggy expression.
"…Peter?"
"Yeah," he said with a small smile. "You passed out yesterday, so we brought you back here. You're in my room."
Jess took a moment to process that, rubbing her eyes before sitting up.
"…Oh."
Her gaze drifted down to her outfit—regular clothes instead of her Spider-Woman suit.
"…Aunt May changed your clothes," Peter added quickly.
"…Ah." Jess nodded, still a little sluggish. She ran a hand through her messy black hair, shaking off the last remnants of sleep.
Then, her lips curled into a small smirk.
"Thanks for yesterday," she said. "I don't know what would have happened if you weren't there."
"No problem," Peter said, waving it off. "We're friends. It was the right thing to do."
Then he glanced away, suddenly feeling restless. His body was burning with energy. The aftereffects of training in Naruto's world were hitting him hard, and he needed to let off steam.
"For now, just freshen up, and we can talk over breakfast," he said.
Jess blinked at him. Her sleepy gaze drifted down his body—taking in his toned physique, the perfect definition of his muscles, the way he stood effortlessly balanced.
Then, with a lazy smirk, she muttered:
"…Peter, you're looking like a snack."
Peter froze.
"What?"
He turned around to look at her properly, only to see her laughing at him.
Shaking his head, he let out a sigh.
"Whatever," he muttered, walking out of the room.
Jess grinned, stretching as she got up.
Yeah. Today was going to be interesting.
Jess came downstairs, dressed in casual clothes, her damp black hair falling over her shoulders.
"How are you feeling now?" Peter asked, watching as she approached.
"Great, actually," she said, stretching. "A hot bath was exactly what I needed."
Peter nodded. He had set up a simple breakfast for her—nothing fancy, just two sandwiches and a cup of hot coffee. May and Ben weren't up yet, so they had the kitchen to themselves.
"Here," he said, handing her the plate. "It's not much, but it'll get you through the morning."
Jess grinned as she sat down.
"Don't mind if I do."
She took a bite of the sandwich and let out a content sigh.
As she ate, she watched Peter closely.
"You know… you're different than I expected," she said, tilting her head.
Peter raised an eyebrow. "How so?"
Jess took a sip of her coffee.
"You're… kinder, more approachable," she admitted. "I always thought you were kind of closed off—like, smart, but not really open."
Peter leaned back in his chair, thinking about that.
"I guess I changed," he admitted. "Went through a life-changing experience. Learned some new things."
Jess raised an eyebrow. "Yeah? What happened?"
Peter smirked. "Why do you want to know? You're not exactly sharing your experiences either."
Jess huffed. "Fair point."
Peter leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table.
"We're friends," he said simply. "I figured we could work together."
Jess narrowed her eyes.
"You looked into my hero persona while I was asleep, didn't you?" she said flatly.
Peter didn't deny it.
"I did. And I noticed something," he said. "You're still a normal girl."
Jess scowled.
"Hey, what's that supposed to mean?"
Peter sighed, setting down his coffee.
"You're too careful, Jess. Everything you do is small and safe. You don't interact with people, you stay in the shadows. Even heroes without powers—like Daredevil—are more well-known than you."
Jess crossed her arms. "And you think you can do better?"
Peter smirked. "I don't plan on showing my face to the world, but yeah."
Jess scoffed. "And why's that?"
Peter's expression shifted. His voice was calm, but serious.
"Because I'm Spider-Man."
Jess's breath hitched slightly.
"…Wait, what?"
"My powers," Peter said. "They came from an alien spider. A creature chose me and changed my DNA."
Jess blinked, taking that in.
Peter leaned forward.
"And now, I want to build a team."
Jess frowned. "A team?"
"You and me," Peter said. "You're strong, Jess. You just need the right direction."
Jess hesitated.
"…Why tell me all this?" she asked, voice quiet. "You're already better than me. I haven't really accomplished anything. I'm… useless."
Peter's expression softened.
"No, you're not," he said firmly. "You just never had the right guidance. You were taking it slow—like a normal person would. But now, we can change that."
Jess looked at him, uncertain.
Peter stood up and walked over to her, placing his hands on her shoulders.
"I can help you learn how to fight," he said. "How to use your powers properly. We can fight together. Build our reputation, grow stronger."
Jess looked up at him, feeling something stir inside her.
"…Didn't you just start yesterday?" she asked skeptically. "How would you even know how to train me?"
Peter smirked.
"Jess," he said, "I was trained for a month by a universal entity beyond our comprehension. Does that sound like enough?"
Jess stared at him.
Then she groaned, throwing her head back.
"That's so unfair."
Peter chuckled. "What?"
"Why do you always get the good stuff?" she whined.
Peter grinned. "Can't do much about that."
Jess sighed dramatically, running a hand through her messy hair.
"…Fine," she muttered. "You've got me interested. I mean, it does sound kind of exciting."
Peter nodded.
"I can help you make a better suit. Give you better gear."
Jess's lips curled into a small smile.
"Man, you really planned this out," she teased. "What is this, the X-Men? The Fantastic Four?"
Peter chuckled.
"…Something bigger."
Jess felt a warmth spread through her chest.
This was… different.
For the first time, she wasn't alone.
And with Peter beside her…
Maybe she didn't have to be.
'Man… I think I have a crush on him again.' Jess thought, brushing her hair behind her ear. A huge grin spread across her face.
Jess raised her hand, grinning.
"Okay, I'm in. So, what's the plan?"
She leaned forward, curious. Peter was ridiculously smart, and she was expecting something good.
Peter nodded.
"I'm new to this too, but here's the deal," he said. "We won't hide from threats—we'll face them head-on. No running away. And I'm working on gadgets, so if you need anything, just tell me, and I'll make it happen."
Jess tilted her head.
"What kind of gadgets?"
Peter grinned.
"Web shooters, tracers, visual aids, a reinforced suit for defense, smoke bombs, web bombs, drones, and a lot more coming soon."
Jess whistled. "Damn, you don't mess around."
Peter smirked.
"From what I saw, you'll need combat training. Your flight is good, but you don't use it properly. Also, I can design non-lethal guns for you—or you could just shoot the energy inside your body."
Jess blinked. "Wait, what energy?"
Peter grabbed her hand gently and focused.
"I can see purple energy inside you," he said. "I think you can shoot it. Like this."
With a small spark, Peter channeled his chakra into her, causing a purple energy blast to shoot out of her fingertip toward his other hand.
The moment it hit, Peter flinched.
"Damn, that stung," he muttered. "Stronger than a sniper shot."
Jess's eyes widened.
"How do you even know that?"
Peter flexed his fingers. "I got shot a lot during training. I know how powerful weapons are."
Jess whistled. "You had it rough."
Peter shrugged.
"Now that you know about your energy blasts, you can fire from the air using visual aids. But you'll still need guns or gadgets in case you run out of energy."
Peter let go of her hand and pulled out his notebook, immediately scribbling down ideas.
Jess watched him, amazed.
"Wow. Just wow. You're still working miracles, Peter."
He didn't look up. "I try."
Jess sighed dramatically.
"You're making me look like a snail in comparison," she whined. "I got nothing to add—your plan is solid. Covers everything."
She paused before adding, "I suck at close combat, though. And I don't want to risk hurting someone too much by mistake."
Peter nodded, making notes.
"I'll work on control training for you."
Jess suddenly grinned. "Just one request."
Peter glanced up. "What is it?"
Jess leaned closer.
"Make my new costume black and white so we match."
Peter raised an eyebrow. "That's doable."
Jess smirked.
"And make it sexy."
Peter blinked. "What?"
Jess laughed.
"Sexy. You know—to attract the masses and distract the goons. Just look at Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, Ms. Marvel, and all the other badass heroines."
She shot him a huge grin, loving the flustered look on his face.
'Damn, I can be so childish sometimes,' she thought.
Peter rubbed his forehead. "Okay… Is that all?"
"Yes, I am looking forward to what you consider sexy." Jess said with a wink and turned to her food leaving a flustered Peter. He had never seen a female on the attack.
Jess winked, casually turning back to her food while Peter sat there, completely flustered.
He had never seen a girl be this… bold.
'Is she coming on to me? I remember she had a crush on me when we were kids, but… could this really be happening?'
Peter's eyes subtly moved, taking her in from head to toe as he walked around the table.
Jess was different from Gwen. She had this sharp, confident energy, something that made her stand out in a way he never really noticed before.
Finally, he smirked, regaining his composure.
"I'll make you look really sexy, Jess," he said as he finished his notes, giving her a genuine look. "Not that it'll be hard—you're already gorgeous."
Jess froze mid-bite before a grin spread across her lips.
"Oh, really now?" she said, a playful spark in her eyes.
Peter shrugged, completely calm now.
"Yeah. You've always been cute, but now? You're beautiful."
Jess raised an eyebrow. "Are you flirting with me now?"
Peter smirked. "You started it."
There was a pause, a shift in the air between them.
Then Jess exhaled, her expression softening.
"I fell for you again, Peter. What are you going to do about it?"
She placed her meal down and stood up, stepping closer.
Her heart was racing, but at the same time, she felt clear-minded.
Going through so much alone made her realize she'd been missing out. Life was too short to hesitate.
Peter's mind was spinning.
Hearing that from a beautiful girl? It made his heart jump.
But at the same time… Gwen's face appeared in his mind.
He wasn't in love with either of them—not yet. But he was definitely interested.
"I don't really have experience, you know…" he admitted. "And we haven't seen each other in a long time. I like you, but… not that much. Not yet."
Jess chuckled.
"Peter, it's just a crush for now. I don't have any experience either—I'm just winging it."
She leaned in slightly.
"So, I don't mind if I experience my first relationship with you."
Peter hesitated, then let out a breath.
"Okay… let's start as friends again."
He placed his hands on her shoulders, looking her in the eyes.
Jess grinned.
"No problem. But I think you mean more than friends."
Then, before Peter could react—
She leaned in and kissed him.
It was soft, warm, and tasted like coffee.
Peter's brain short-circuited.
This… was his first kiss.
And all he could think was—
Damn.
