A PORTION OF LOVE

It is the first day of school. Joseph arrives ten minutes before the bell rings, he walks quietly unto the compound while observing his surroundings. While he walks down the corridor, he is very cautious and very optimistic. As soon as he gets to the entrance of the classroom, he takes a deep breath. "Good morning everyone," he says "Good morning" Everyone responds. "Joseph come grab a seat before you don't get one" A familiar voice echoes from the classroom. "Andre! "where the hell is he? Joseph asks himself. Andre is sitting at the third column in the fourth row from the entrance. "Hey," they both say at the same time continuing in a rage of excitement. "How was your summer? Joseph asks while they are greeting each other. "I had a great time! "in fact I had a lot of fun" Andre answers then ask "So what about you? "I had lots of fun! "Furthermore I wish we could of stayed at home two weeks longer! "Even the other students will agree with that" Joseph replies, after the exchange of how they spent their summer they then shake their heads and laugh. At around fifteen minutes past the hour of eight that morning, the bell rings followed by the voice of the principal echoing through the public announce system. "A pleasant good morning to everyone! "all students must be present at the assembly hall in an orderly fashion and the order of your class! "Please take notice as we are about to start our school year! "I am your principal Mr. De 'Freitas" At the assembly the principal introduces the teachers, the rules, the motto, the goals, and the legacy the school holds over the years of their existence. The assembly runs for an hour and forty-five minutes then the students are usher back to their classes and is given their timetable and the schedule for the school year. The first two days of the week school dismiss at twelve noon and for the balance of the week at two O'clock in the afternoon. Three weeks passes as the students settles into their new school year, on the second day of that week, there is an emergency exercise. The bell rings follows by the voice of the principal making utterance. "it is now time for our emergency exercise, all students must assemble themselves in the school's parking lot as quickly as possible and in an orderly fashion! "now you have less than five minutes to get there so be on your way go, go, go" While everyone rushes to get to parking lot Joseph in agony says to himself unconsciously thinking out loud. "Why the heck we have to do this damn exercise today? "By the way I thought it was supposed to be next Wednesday" In response a lovely voice echoes from behind him saying "no Joseph it is scheduled for today, today Tuesday" In a complete shock he asks "what the hell! "you hear what I am thinking and how do you know my name? while he attempt turn in the direction from whence the voice came. "No, I didn't hear your thoughts! "I heard what you said and we are in the same class" the voice answers "No...I don't believe it, I know I wasn't talking" Joseph replies shamefully "Why are you feeling embarrassed? the voice asks "No I'm not...it's just that I'm trying to understand what the hell just happened" Joseph answers "no Joseph no don't feel that way it's okay it happens to me a lot and it isn't something to feel bad about" the voice replies "feel bad about what? he asks "thinking out loud silly" the voice answers "Ooh so true" he said then turns around and countiue spesking "you said we are in the same class so how is it possible that today is the first time I'm seeing such a beautiful girl like you? "I can tell no, no way I believe you haven't been paying much attention in class" she answers then says "oh thank you for the compliment!... you're pretty good-looking yourself. "no problem miss beautiful" Joseph replies then he says "oh please a beauty like yours wouldn't pass my eyes even if I'm not paying attention" The young lady blushes and says "mm-mm-mm if you say so" then they giggle and went on to take part in the emergency exercise. After having that worthwhile conversation while taking part in the emergency exercise Joseph and the female both fantasize about talking to each other again and coincidentally at lunch, they spend the afternoon together and get to know a little about each other. "It has been a month and two days since we got to know each other and since then I haven't been able to have a good conversation with her! "I have to stop being this shy and tell her how I feel about her! "What even better we are also in the same class!...oh my God!...I can't stop thinking about her!...I can still hear her wonderful voice and see her beautiful face!...damn why do I feel this way about her?...she is a beauty" Joseph is saying to himself while he is reading a book called the green days by the river. Suddenly two female voices echoes from behind him and one of which he recognized "Isn't that the girl I was just thinking about and talking to when we were about to have the emergency exercise? Joseph asks himself once again unconsciously thinking out loud, then the voice of the female who he recognizes says to herself in a complete shock "is that who I think it is behind me? then Joseph and the female turn in the direction from whence their voices came and upon realizing that they are the person who they both are talking about, they blushes and say hi to each other with a bright smile then quickly turn away. They are sitting under a tall tree that makes a nice shade which is beside the football field that is five minutes away from the school. "Hey um...I'm...I didn't get your name and it's over a month now since we met" Joseph says nervously "my name is Amanda Andrews" she answers in excitement then she says "but you could of ask since last month! "what took you so long?..." just kidding don't answer that" while smiling at him, the other female turn to Amanda and say "I will leave you two to love birds alone" then she leaves. Amanda blushes for a while then says "okay well see you in class! "what she is in our class too? "where the hell have I been? Joseph asks curiously "yes she is and I believe you have been living too long in your own world" Amanda answers "my own world you say?...I think you could be right" Joseph replies and in his thoughts, he says "if you only know what is in my world you will never believe it" after having a warm conversation fifteen minutes later the bell rings. Amanda in agony "what the hell! "Math class already" then ask "how long have we been here? "we been here talking for at least thirty to thirty-five minutes" Joseph answers "Joseph let us ditch class! "come...let us go and do something fun," Amanda says lustfully Joseph replies gently while scratching his head "I want to but we can't! "we have English exam after Math class so let's get going before the teacher gets in the class". While on their way to class Amanda tries to hold him back by rubbing his hands on her thighs and lustfully saying "in spite you are shy you are very charming and handsome! "huh! "what did you say? Joseph ask "you may not see it but you are very charming and handsome! she replies "why did you say that? Joseph ask but suddenly the voice of Andre cuts her off before she could say what she is about to while Andre runs out of the classroom towards them. He yells "Joseph, Joseph! "Desmond and David are asking for you! "for me! "for what? "what do they want? Joseph ask "I am not sure, "they were just asking for you so that's why I'm here I decide to come to look for you" Andre answers "okay I'm coming" Joseph replies then turn to Amanda holds her hand, and says "come now let get to class! "oh here they comes! "come on let us play snakes and leathers," Desmond says follows by David "don't even bother asking any questions! "the teachers is having a staff meeting and they say we will have the English exam first thing in the morning". Joseph, Andre, Desmond, and David starts to play the game, five minutes later Joseph invites Amanda and David invites Catherine who is the longtime friend of his ever since they were born, they all plays snakes and leathers for the next three sessions until dismissal due to the staff meeting. The next morning before and after the English exam and for the rest of that month all six of them Joseph, Amanda, David, Catherine, Desmond, and Andre hang out and gets to be fond of each other. The following month on the first Monday while Joseph eats his lunch A pair of hand comes from behind him covering his eyes, after the struggle of getting the hands from his eyes on realizing that it is Catherine and ketchup gets spill on his clothes in annoyance he responds. "damn it Catherine! "you always fucking playing around! "can't a man eat his lunch in fucking piece? Catherine laughs then she says "yes and no! "but don't you know I'm kind of crazy by now? Joseph replies "kind of crazy, "kind of crazy, giggles then say "you are half right but you are pretty fucking crazy that's what I'm telling you! "now I am going clean this ketchup off my shirt then go somewhere to hide so that you can't find me, "so if you wanted to talk you just blew it so I will see you in class. "Joseph why are you always so mean to me? Catherine asks sadly "I don't think I have ever been mean to you" Joseph answers "yes Joseph you always! "you will talk to the other girls nicely all the time!... when it comes to me you are always reclusive,... it's like you don't even like me at all!...why the hell do you even talk to me" she replies inconsolably. With the feeling of guilt Joseph hugs her passionately and say "I'm really sorry if I hurt your feelings and I do like you but the thing is...you play a little bit too much" then he walks down into the direction of the table tennis room with the thought of him regretting hurting Catherine's feelings and suddenly there is Amanda as she sits in the tennis room on the floor with her legs cross while she eats her lunch and reading the book called the young warriors. Joseph being that shy he tries to turn away before she sees him staring at her but he bumps into the door frightening her. She screams then yells "you fucking idiot can't you see the fucking door? "yes I didn't mean to interrupt you so I tried to move away quickly but I accidentally bumped into the door" Joseph replies. After realizing that Joseph is the one who startled her she responds "oh gosh I didn't even realize that it is you, Joseph! "I'm So sorry that I call you an idiot! "it's okay I've been getting that name all day" Joseph replies then they both laughs for a few minutes. "what are you doing here all alone," Joseph asks "nun really I just can't take too much noise right now" Amanda answers then she asks "so what about you what brings you here? "I was trying to get away from Catherine" Joseph answers. "oh really hmm I see" Amanda responds, Joseph replies passionately to Amanda "nothing is going on between Catherine and I! "okay I hear you Amanda replies "it is the truth we are nothing more than classmates or became friends ever since we played snakes and leathers a few weeks ago! "I just wanted to get away from her that's all! "plus she harasses me one too much today and spill ketchup on my shirt" Joseph utters "if you say so" Amanda replies then she asks after a minute of silence "but Joseph can't you see that Catherine likes you," he says in his mind he says "Catherine likes me, "no wonder why she acts that way with me all the time" then he asked "but how can I be with someone that crazy? "I don't know! "but you must try to be nicer to her" Amanda answers "I will! "but I don't like her in that kind of way" Joseph replies "there a saying when someone loves you always make use of that opportunity and don't ever let it slip away" she responds. Joseph smiles at what she says and says "as I said before I don't like her in that but I will be nicer to her and see if what you say is true" They then finish their lunches while continuing their conversation. The next day Joseph and Amanda planned to spend their day together by putting themselves in the position so that they can get in contact with each other but on the contrary, however, Catherine seems to be everywhere, in all the places where they planned to place themselves, unfortunately, on one occasion she deliberately drops her books so Joseph wouldn't pay attention to Amanda as she passes by and at dismissal that evening Amanda asks Joseph "can't you see that Catherine really likes you" Joseph replies "well that has proven it's point but I'm sorry I don't have feelings for Catherine "the feelings I have is for you" shakes his head and laugh! "Yes Joseph I can see it clearly! "Joseph you can't tell me you didn't see the way she acts all the time especially day today? she ask "I am not saying that I didn't see it! "what I'm trying to tell you is ever since we met I have develop feelings for you and the more we hang out the stronger they gets" Joseph replies "I can see that you likes me" she respond then she ask "can you prove it? "yes I can and I will if you ask me to" Joseph answers. Amanda stands there in shock by what Joseph said, in her mind she says to herself "he just told me that he is falling in love me and all I could tell him is can you prove it what the hell you like him to" then she turn to Joseph and says "come on you can prove it by holding my hand while we are walking to get the bus to go home" Joseph replies "okay lets go but the bus wouldn't be here until the next fifteen minutes! "so what are we going to do until then? Amanda answers "laugh and talk or even kiss! "oh wow you not are serious" Joseph replies in shock "hey, hey don't get your hopes up I'm kidding we can't be seen kissing on the school compound you know we could get suspend for that right" Amanda replies "yes now come on let's make that girl jealous" Joseph respond. They hold hands while walking out of the school compound blushing to everything they say's to each other, while passing Catherine Amanda wraps her hands around Joseph and advises him to do the same and and as they walks out of the gate they look around for Catherine to see if she would get jealous.
