Chapter 42—Zhang Yong University Entrance Exam
A loud sound coming from the alarm awakens Vera. She hurried to prepare for her exam. Not wanting to waste more time, she only carried essential documents with her. She had already organized most of her identification, so she doesn't need to cram.
Although she doesn't want to accept it, she is anxious for this day. It will be the first time she will leave the mansion. It only means one thing for her: today will be the day that she embarks on her journey as Lu Jia. From today onwards, she is no longer Vera Henderson. Instead, she is Lu Jia, fiancée of the most powerful man in Country X and a mother to his son. This will be her clean start before she pursues her revenge against her brother.
After thirty minutes, she rushes down the dining hall to see Xu Li eating his breakfast. "Good morning, my sweet. Where is your father?" She asks while kissing the boy's forehead.
Butler Yang, who is standing on the side, answered Vera's question. "Master left early, mistress. He told me to give this to you. The car is already outside." He handed an envelope to Vera.
Vera opens the envelope to see three cards inside. Two black credit cards under her name and one gold card. The gold card seems to be a VIP card. It says, Jia World.
"What's this?" Vera questioned the butler.
"That's the VIP card for Jia World, Mommy. It's a shopping mall owned by Daddy. Only the owner can have it. I have it as well." Xu Li answered before the butler could utter any words.
"Hmm, I see. In that case, we will need to go out later, son. Do you want to go with Mommy?" "Yeheey, Of course, Mommy. I would love that! I love shopping!" The boy exclaimed. He is as excited as Vera.
The butler, who is watching the duo on the side, could not help but shake his head. He didn't expect that their young master's enthusiasm with shopping came from his mother. It could be genetic, Butler Yang thought silently.
"Okay, after my exam, I will pick you up. Wish me luck, son."
Vera stood up and went to the car, which was waiting for her. Xu Li stopped his eating and followed his mother. After they kissed goodbye, a black Mercedes left the mansion.

Zhang Yong University
A black Mercedes is parked in the entrance of the university, and a considerable number of students are rushing to enter the majestic entrance gate. It is apparent to the people that the gate symbolizes a momentous event in their lives. It could be their first and last time to enter this prestigious university.
Vera studied her surroundings, and she felt satisfied with the infrastructure of the university. The school is massive, and most of the buildings are huge and modern. The design and building locations remind her of Country A's university. However, that is the only similarity she could find. The students passing the gates are obviously wealthy by the way they carry themselves. She could spot some who seem to be out of place, but their numbers are not that great.
Vera looks down at her clothes. Since she didn't think much of today's exam, she didn't wear anything fancy; instead, she wore a casual shirt and jeans. She likes to wear comfortable clothes since she was always training martial arts. Jeans and a T-shirt are her favorites. Unless there is a special occasion or function, her wardrobe is mostly casual wear.
Not minding her appearance, she gets down from the car and follows the people flocking to the entrance.

A few minutes later, Vera found her room and sat quietly. She observed the student coming in while she waited for the examiner to come and start the exam.
On her far side, two women were studying Vera. They didn't miss noticing that the woman looks too old to be taking the entrance exam. She even looks poor in their estimation. Why would she also try to enter this prestigious school with her appearance? The two thought while throwing a dissatisfied gaze in Vera's direction.
Vera, on the other hand, is oblivious to the fact that she already annoyed someone and composed herself when the examiner entered and told them to prepare. She took out her pen and answered the paper as soon as it was distributed to her.
