The grandeur of the Singhania Mansion was on full display as preparations for the evening's grand party were in full swing. The mansion, a towering symbol of wealth and power, buzzed with activity. Servants rushed about, floral decorations adorned the vast halls, and chandeliers bathed the space in golden light. Every detail was meticulously arranged to ensure the event remained the talk of the town.
In one of the lavishly furnished rooms, Sahir and Vansh stood near a large window, overlooking the sprawling garden where the final touches for the party were being set. Sahir, unable to contain his curiosity any longer, turned to Vansh.
An Unanswered Question
"I wanted to ask you this at the office itself, but Karan's presence stopped me," Sahir said, his voice laced with intrigue.
Vansh, adjusting his cufflinks, barely spared him a glance. "What is it?" he asked nonchalantly.
"Your new sister—oh, what's her name? Mom mentioned her earlier," Sahir continued, trying to recall.
Vansh finally looked up. "Drishti."
Sahir snapped his fingers. "Yes! Drishti. She's your aunt Maithili's only daughter, right?"
A knowing smirk appeared on Vansh's face. "I see where this is going."
"Then you must know my question already," Sahir said, his eyebrows raised. "Why didn't your aunt leave anything for her only daughter? I mean, it's strange, isn't it?"
Vansh leaned against the window frame, his expression contemplative. "I thought about it too. At first, it seemed odd, but then I came to my own conclusion."
Sahir folded his arms. "And what is that?"
"Drishti was never deprived of anything," Vansh explained. "She was well-fed, well-clothed, had a proper shelter, and received an excellent education. In comparison to others, she lived a privileged life. There was no mistreatment, no neglect. So why does it seem like an issue?"
Sahir frowned. "Because it feels incomplete. A mother's wealth, legacy—something should have been passed down."
Vansh exhaled slowly. "The real mystery isn't about what she didn't receive. The real question is why Aunt Maithili's death still remains an unsolved puzzle. Even today, it lingers in uncertainty."
Sahir's expression darkened. "You're saying there's more to her death?"
Vansh gave a noncommittal shrug. "Who knows? But right now, what matters is that Drishti is healthy and thriving."
Sahir nodded thoughtfully. "Father was saying the same thing. He believes she has inherited Aunt Maithili's positive attitude."
The conversation took a lighter turn when Sahir smirked and clapped Vansh on the back. "Enough of the serious talk, dude. What are you wearing to the party? If you haven't decided yet, let's pick something together."
Vansh chuckled, shaking his head. "Fine. Let's go."
The Grand Celebration
As evening fell, the Singhania Mansion transformed into an ethereal dream. The gardens were illuminated with fairy lights, the scent of fresh flowers filled the air, and the grand ballroom sparkled under crystal chandeliers.
Inside, the Singhania and Rathore families prepared to make their entrance. Mihir Singhania, the formidable patriarch, stood at the center of the room, receiving guests with effortless grace. By his side were Samrat Rathore and his wife, Komala Rathore.
The younger generation of both families arrived together, as planned. While the Rathores held a minor share in the Singhania empire, Komala always tried to push her children into the limelight, hoping they would outshine the Singhania heirs. However, time and again, they found themselves overshadowed—especially by Vansh.
Drishti, on the other hand, carried herself with quiet confidence. Her independent nature caught the attention of many esteemed guests, leaving a lasting impression. Though she outwardly appeared indifferent to the admiration, deep down, she knew tonight was important. If she wanted to secure her place in this world, she had to impress Mihir Singhania.
And so, with every calculated smile and carefully chosen word, she moved through the crowd, ensuring that tonight, her presence would not be forgotten.
Little did she know, this night would set the stage for secrets to unravel and destinies to change forever.
