Chapter 50 - 48 The Test, The Trick

Next Day – The Test, The Trick, and The Ultimate Chaos

Chahat walked into the college, inhaling the crisp morning air, but as soon as she stepped into the classroom, she felt a strange shift in the atmosphere. Instead of the usual chaos—gossip, last-minute homework copying, and snack-stealing—there was a nervous tension hanging in the air.

Her classmates sat stiffly, eyes glued to their books as if they were trying to absorb knowledge through sheer desperation. Some were even whispering historical dates like a prayer.

Chahat frowned. "What's going on? Why does everyone look like they're attending their own funeral?"

A classmate leaned over and whispered dramatically, "Didn't you hear? Surprise history test today!"

Chahat sighed, shaking her head. "Oh, for God's sake… The way you all are acting, I thought someone got kidnapped."

Just then, a loud voice called out from the back.

"Hey, why are you alone today? Where's your bestie, Tiya?" Jai smirked as he leaned back on his bench, clearly unbothered by the upcoming academic disaster.

Chahat barely had time to answer when Kiya, the queen of unnecessary drama, leaned forward with a smug look. "It's like she doesn't know…"

Chahat raised an eyebrow. "Know what?"

Jai let out a chuckle. "Oh, don't worry. You'll find out soon enough."

Right on cue, the classroom door swung open, and in walked Tiya—limping.

But it wasn't just the limp that made the entire class erupt into laughter. Tiya's right hand was wrapped in a makeshift bandage that looked suspiciously like someone had mummified her arm in toilet paper. She was cradling it as if it were a precious artifact from ancient Egypt.

Chahat gasped. "Tiya! What happened to your hand?" She rushed to her friend's side, her eyes full of concern. "Did you fall? Did you see a doctor? Does it hurt?"

Before Tiya could answer, Jai let out a loud laugh, nearly falling off his chair.

Chahat turned to him, annoyed. "Jai, what's so funny? She's hurt!"

Jai wiped a fake tear from his eye. "Oh, Chahat, you innocent soul." He dramatically gestured towards Tiya. "This is nothing new. Every time there's an exam or test, she mysteriously 'injures' herself. It's her signature move—patented since school days."

Chahat's jaw dropped. "You're kidding!"

Tiya pouted dramatically. "Ugh, Jai! Did you have to expose me like that? You're ruining my act!"

She waved her 'injured' hand around absentmindedly, and the class collectively gasped when the bandage started unraveling mid-air. A roll of toilet paper flopped onto the floor like a defeated soldier.

Kiya snorted. "Honestly, Tiya. Couldn't you come up with something new? Your old tricks are starting to stink."

Tiya narrowed her eyes. "Oh, shut up, Kiya! Or I'll make sure your mouth stinks worse than your attitude."

Kiya raised an eyebrow. "Oh really? I'd love to see you try."

Jai, enjoying the show, tapped Tiya lightly on the head. "You do realize if you actually studied, you wouldn't have to pull this nonsense, right?"

Tiya sighed, throwing her 'injured' hand over her forehead dramatically. "But where's the fun in that?"
