Cherreads

Chapter 76 - 74 Turned into a chaotic dressing room

The sun bathed the morning in a warm glow as the group buzzed with excitement, their preparations for the Holi party in full swing. The house had turned into a chaotic dressing room—makeup, accessories, and last-minute outfit adjustments flying in all directions.

Tiya, already dressed in her dazzling jumpsuit, was adjusting her earrings when she heard the rising voices from the other room.

"I told you to use just a little!" Kiya's voice rang out in exasperation.

"You literally dipped the brush in foundation like you were painting a wall!" Chahat shot back, holding up the evidence—a beauty blender that looked like it had been through a storm.

"It's water-resistant! It won't budge!" Bella defended herself.

"But we're going to a Holi party, not a wedding! Why are you putting layers?" Mehendi groaned, dabbing at her already flawless skin.

Bella, amused by the whole ordeal, twirled in front of the mirror. "I don't get why you guys are stressing. A little kajal, some lip tint, and we're good to go!" She winked, making a dramatic pose.

Prachi, who had been relatively quiet, checked her phone for what seemed like the hundredth time. "Ugh, my mom keeps calling. She wants to know if we've left yet," she muttered.

"Tell her we're almost there," Jay suggested from the doorway, dressed in his crisp white kurta.

"But we're not!" Prachi huffed.

"She doesn't need to know that," he grinned, dodging the cushion Prachi threw at him.

Tiya, ever the voice of reason, clapped her hands to get their attention. "Enough of this! Minimal makeup, remember? The plan was to enjoy the Holi party, not worry about touch-ups every five minutes."

Kiya sighed dramatically. "Fine, fine. I'll keep it simple. But at least let me fix my eyeliner!"

"Five minutes," Chahat warned. "Or we're leaving without you."

With their final touch-ups done—just enough makeup to enhance their features but not melt under the colors—they finally stepped out.

As they piled into the cars, Prachi's phone rang again. She groaned before answering. "Yes, Maa, we're leaving now!"

"Are you sure?" her mother pressed.

"Yes, yes! We'll be there soon."

The moment she hung up, Jay smirked. "You do realize she's going to call again in ten minutes, right?"

Prachi rolled her eyes. "I know. But let's just get there before she starts tracking my phone!"

With that, they sped off, ready for a day of color, laughter, and a little more chaos.
