"You can ignore me," he said, a bit petulantly.
Ann Nolan's hand paused, she glanced at him, "Ignore you? If something happens to you, wouldn't I be held criminally responsible? Mr. Santos, don't you have a lot of friends? What's the matter, nobody to take care of you when you're sick?"
"You are my wife..."
He felt very innocent.
Ann choked, unable to swallow or spit out her words.
"I would take care of you if you were sick," Zaiden Santos added.
Ann was even more choked up.
In this respect, Zaiden Santos hadn't lied.
After marrying him, when she fell ill, he would go through the motions, feeding her medicine, bringing her tea and water.
Sometimes, if her cold was too severe, he would even take a day off to stay home.
Ann didn't know what to say. Actually, even if he wasn't Zaiden Santos, but a stranger, with her personality, she would still care.
