After Liu Minjun left, Su Zixi lost her appetite.
She left the hospital room, planning to visit He Jingyao next door.
But as she stepped out of the room, the first thing she saw was Ning Yichen leaning against the wall.
His expression was calm, and his posture of waiting without resentment made Su Zixi's heart twinge slightly.
"Ning Yichen," she softly began.
Only then did he look up, giving a slight smile, "How are you?"
Su Zixi shook her head, "I'm fine. And, thank you for today."
"You don't have to think about it," Ning Yichen's voice was a bit hoarse, "compared to all you've done for me, this is nothing."
Su Zixi pursed her lips, "I've already said, you don't owe me anything…"
"Owing or not is not for you to decide," Ning Yichen interrupted her, then gave a self-deprecating smile, "I know, you just disdain my attempt at compensation."
Suddenly, Su Zixi didn't know what to say.
"Su Zixi," he called her name hoarsely, "I still say the same thing, you… do have choices."
