Chapter 9: The Corpse's Call
In the dark recesses of Gaia, the time-stopper machine continued to tick away, its presence felt across the world. Meanwhile, the seal on Death's prison had been broken, releasing the dark entity into the world once more. Though the soul stone had shattered, releasing Death's essence, his powers remained incomplete. His moon attunement, a source of immense power, was still beyond his grasp.
A gathering of powerful individuals, loyal to the Corpse, stood before Death. Homer "Zapper" Watts, a wizard attuned to electricity, Millena "Vixen" Storm, a wizardess with mastery over fire and sky, and Baron "Reaper" Englund, a dark wizard with affinity for blood and ground, formed the magical trio. Alongside them stood Howard "Terminator" Chen, a tech wizard skilled in robotics, and Veronica "Edge" Wilds, a mysterious techie with unknown expertise.
As Death's presence filled the air, the Corpse members bowed in reverence. "My King," they murmured in unison.
Death's gaze swept across the room, his eyes lingering on each member. "Now that I am free, the scent of blood rises once more," he declared, his voice like a cold breeze.
Reaper stepped forward, his eyes gleaming with anticipation. "What do we do now, my King? Shall we strike at Gaia?"
Death's smile was a thin-lipped gesture. "Not yet, Reaper. First, we must claim the time-stopper machine. And then... kill the eldest son of Stanford." His words dripped with malice, and the Corpse members nodded in obedience.
The darkness seemed to grow thicker, as if it itself was responding to Death's presence. The Corpse members knew their master's will would be done, no matter the cost.
