"I am back!" A loud yet familiar voice called out just when Nesryn's eyelids started drooping. In an instant, her body shot right back up in a sitting position, eyes scanning the room and getting used to the light until it landed on the familiar figure of her husband.
Azriel let out a grimace upon seeing that he had startled his beloved, who seemed to be in the process of falling asleep. With a slightly cautious step, he silently made his way inside, to the point of almost tiptoeing as he placed down his coat and bag, as well as a couple of bags of souvenirs that he had bought for Nesryn.
"You don't have to be quiet, I am awake now." There was mirth in the tone of her voice and Azriel knew the smirk playing on his beloved's face even before he could see it. He was about to turn around, only to feel a pair of thin arms snake around his torso and a small weight on his back. Almost subconsciously, his weariness flooded out of his body, a small smile etching itself on his face.
