Morning arrives but I awoke to a cold bed where Doyle should be sleeping. I stifled the prickling sensation in my chest and reassured myself that it was for the best before throwing my legs out the covers.
I could hardly recall getting into bed the night before, especially after having had those confusing thoughts which I continuously beat myself about. Maybe that was the reason why I still felt so lethargic even after managing to fall asleep last night.
I yawned and sauntered towards the bathroom, dreading going to work after being so exhausted over the weekend. And for a brief moment, I saw Dameon's face reflected back in the mirror which made my heart skip a beat.
"Ah! Damn... That gave me a fright..." I mutter to myself, although the reflection in the mirror of me with ears blushing a crimson hue told me that my heart was racing over a different matter.
