it had been a few days since that incident with that small army. and I had my Prodigy a Cave System we had found recently he needed to get an experience and grow stronger. if my hunch is correct he should return today. and probably with a report of anything he may have discovered or not. we had captured a lot more Spike wolves and normal animals. I had started to turn more and more of the hunters into inhuman creatures with my serum I had made from mixing the spikes woifs blood with my own. and of course they became a lot stronger. I had also tested out on one of the Bandit guards by doing the same procedure but with a Hobgoblin's blood that time instead. and I found a quickly his eyes became more sensitive the sunlight not working as well but at nighttime they were very good. obviously more Superior than human eyesight at night time. and I figured out why this mixing my blood with a normal animals blood only does end up increasing the individual's overall stats. so if I went to find something really interesting I would have to use special creature blood. for me to create any unique abilities for my Warriors. do I have. I couldn't take the powers of unique creatures by drinking the serum myself. tho I do not know how that would work out I've decided not to try it.
I did finally choose to leave the planning room and walk the now pave streets of the village though the streets were made out of crudely carved Stone. this was simply a beginning something to work towards to improve. I could use a thoughts of my second protege I occasionally listen in to what's going on around him and then him and his men seem to have kept the secret of him being a vampire now loyalty truly is a beautiful thing. I also sent one of my Hunters to spy in the second remaining human city of the region. and Beyond the region is another Scout who is job is to keep an eye on what's going on in those regions. we had also finished construction of quite a bit of buildings more houses the blacksmith's the guard barracks and we have even started construction on the guard tower that will be above on the Cliff face above the village. I then saw the captain of the normal Town guard started to approach me and he spoke.
" Lord Jack I have some news about some of my Scouts."
I stared at him for a moment as I slowly nodded and gestured for him to continue speaking.
" Well turns out that Goblin Priestess of some sort was spotted in that cave again with more of her kin. what are we to do my Lord?"
I placed my hand calmly on his shoulder with a smile on my face.
" simple I will go deal with them since I am much stronger than last time I shouldn't have much problems. and for you I need you to make sure the villages well protected just in case when I go there they have a second attack ready to attack our home so you will not send any men with me. they have them preparing to defend the village if necessary."
as I spoke calmly he slowly nodded and looked down as he spoke.
" as you wish my Lord I will do everything in my power to keep the village safe while you are away."
I nodded to him as I made my way back to my home where I left my armor. with each step I took I could feel my Hunger for blood begin to rise again. I found out something interesting about my Hunger. if I were to drink the blood of a peasant who is riddled with diseases I won't get as much nutrients from the blood making me have to feed more. but if I were to drink the blood of someone who is very strong healthy and in shape I could drink some of their blood not all of it and be able to stay off my Hunger for much longer. which brings me to the conclusion that my Hunger will react to the quality of the blood I drink. for my first protege I had him feed off his Bandit comrades since they trusted him the most and he could trust them to keep Secret. but I don't know who my second Protege would feed off of. tho it is not my concern since he's just there to keep my Village safe from attack from that City so if he fails I will have to force him his men to attack the city from the inside while we attack from the outside.
as i reached the front door of my house entering it I could see the sleeping figure of my lady Layla who were the villagers have just called her my lady. I walk towards my armor and began putting it on. as always she slept a lot during this time of day unless she has something to do that didn't involve me. I quickly put my armor on and I put my sword on my waist as I began making my way outside of the house surprisingly Layla did not wake up. but then again she was a really heavy sleeper so I wasn't completely surprised. I began making my way to the front gate which head to the forest. because of us cutting down the trees as I approached the forest I could see the logging Camp which we still have men working there. so I did have some men Gathering horses to actually make travel easier for them. I didn't really have an issue traveling since I was very fast. and since I was now running at full speed I went past the men working at the Mill like a blur and into the forest heading to the cave as I look down into it I had a smile.
I began to walk down the cave as I use my vampiric sight to see where the life force was of the monsters and I could see a somewhat large Gathering no more than 50. as I made my way closer I could tell they were reacting to me I didn't have my helmet on because I left it back at the village. as I entered the main shaver the Priestess recognized me immediately her eyes were shocked because I had involved she began to speak.
" how only the night father can make the Children of the Night evolve."
I stared at her with a smile as I begin to speak walking towards her slowly. my weapon was never drawn the entire time.
" I'm going to drink all of the creatures in this room's blood for my continued growth. you all should feel very honored."
as I spoke her eyes widen and as soon as she looked at the rest of her people I vanished and appeared behind her. I sink my fangs into her neck as her eyes we're locked in a look of horror and shock she couldn't speak for some reason and many of her people were Stern chance something like if they were excited to become one with a child of the night. her look of horror change to one of happiness. and somehow now she could speak though her voice grow weaker with each word.
" praise be my kin we all shall be one with this child of the night!!"
I soon drained her dry letting her body fall to the ground and I stared at each of the goblins they all seem excited. 2 hours had passed and I had consumed every drop of blood and each of the Goblins regardless if they were greenskin, hobgoblin or a bugbear. I could hear a voice in my head whispering to me.
" good my child good..... when you return your Protege.... should be ready to evolve...."
I smiled as I began to leave the cave I took a white handkerchief and sorry to wipe my mouth of the leftover blood I could tell that that Priestess is blood was enough to Sate my Hunger probably for a few days. but with the rest of them I probably can go one full month now without blood. which is very good. without a doubt I began using my full speed to return back to the Village only stopping about halfway to the Village to begin walking back. I didn't saw my protege standing at the gates talking to that human I left in charge of the Town guard he seemed much more different my protege. much more stronger and what seemed to be able to provide much more ferocity but he also seemed to grow a bit more wiser as well perhaps this was the result of him training. as my protege felt my presence he looked at me and waved. I waved back as I use my telepathic link to speak to him directly.
" my protege I believe it's time for you to evolve meet me in the planning room after you are done with what you plan to do while waiting for me to return."
he seemed to nod and begin to talk with the others again and even doing a number of other tasks as I made my way through the village and got the planning room I sat on my throne. closing my eyes I started to let time pass by without even trying to keep track of it by the time I opened my eyes because of my protege is presents it was the middle of night. he was kneeling before me as I looked down at him I heard the voice whisper again to me.
"feed...feed him blood...the same blood that transformed him....the same blood that had given him eternity.....feed him"
I bring a knife to my risk slowly cutting it I stared at him extending my arm outward stopping my own body from regenerating for the moment. this seems that caught his attention as I spoke.
"....feed of my blood my child...the very blood that gave you eternity...the very blood that ascended you passed Humanity."
he slowly stood up and drink of My Blood a white shell slowly began to wrap around him as I heard the voice whispered to me again."
" what with this child specialize in...? as the father you choose..... though he is much more specialized already to physical combat perhaps an evolution that enhances this...."
I stayed quiet as I start to speak to the whisper within my mind.
" he will stand as a grand champion of mine who brings plagues....diseases and destruction to those I deem Unworthy of living.... someone who will be unrelentless in his duty they must follow his orders to The Bitter End..... a standing Guardian even while I Slumber will be there to strike down anyone foolish enough to challenge me while I sleep...."
The Whisper began to speak to me with what seemed to be a happy tone with what I described.
"yes...yes a fine choice for a champion...a Sentinel of plague....a ruthless Hunter an loyal dog..... fine Choice my child find choice...."
when does a coon fully formed around my protege I stared at it as I began to lift him and put him to the side of the room. I wondered how would he change and what he will be capable of doing. as I thought this however I Heard a Voice it was the voice of my second protege thinking to himself he rarely had time to think himself so when he did I found it interesting to listen in on him.
" I feel like I can't betray that person he has the high price yes but I would say it would it's well worth it protect my man it seems even my men are grateful I chose to take the price. though I do know they would gladly have died by my side how many battles we had been through together but the king had asked me why did we not take over the town like we have planned."
I started to tamper with his mind to make them have a flashback of it that conversation so I could see what happened. my vision began to change as I saw a throne room and my second Protege kneeling before the king for some odd reason this made me someone mad probably because he was now my child and should only bow to me.
" why did you not take over the town as you had planned?"
my second project spoke calmly and assertive Lee and it seems the king had some Monica some respect towards my second protege.
" your highness I Was Defeated in a Duel By The Villages leader he seemed to Bear the armor of the original royal guard of the pass emperor... and he certainly has the skill One Would Imagine a member of that guard would have since he bested me so quickly. I have upheld the terms of the duel I would return back to where I came from and try a different way to pleat my plans...."
the king of this city seems to have his eyes widen including his court as a herd the old Emperor's royal guard. they all start to slowly not to each other the seem to explain how my second Protege was beaten. the King has spoke calmly towards my second protege.
" then we must try and get convince him to join us."
it was at this moment the second Protege had shook his head and began to speak.
" I'm sorry your majesty...but he said he would reunite the empire with his own hands which means.....he will most likely challenge you for the right to rule this city and then with the remaining city as well with their ruler...."
at that moment I forgotten I could as a lord challenge any one of nobility for their land. regardless if they were king-emperor or anything and this seemed to make the king look afraid of losing his City. but many of the advisers were just talking among themselves not loud enough for the king or my second Protege to here. but only amongst the advisors which they seem to have standard always next to each other. one of the advisors step forward and spoke.
" if he challenges his majesty there is no refusing the challenge since the people would see it as a sign of weakness and fear...when we need strength in these perilous times the most..... so we must figure out a way to poison him or make him weaker so the king can rule without hesitation..... since one of the royal guard of the old Emperor would be equal to every royal guard in this Castle. and even then with the quality of our guard we would probably need three times as many they take him down. if he was part of the higher-ranking of the old Emperor's Royal guard."
I smiled during them as I was immune to poisons and diseases so I couldn't be weakened through those means so I didn't know how holy magic would react to me. and typically if the challenge takes place in the city. holy Mages would be around chanting magic to prevent people from interfering through magical means but in a plane's is basically said magic was allowed. which I probably will do this sometime in the future. because if a lord refuses to accept the challenge the people will most certainly turn against them seeing it as those guy said a sign of fear and weakness.
