Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 : Remember Me?

"Its been about six years since I escaped that damn place and started living with Yuki. Thankfully she gave me somewhere to live and some where to work. Now I just need to make a plan to stop them once and for all...that damn place will pay for what they did to me and what they made me do....." I thought to myself as I got ready to go to work with Yuki. Yuki would always wake up earlier than me and would rush me to get ready but I didn't really mind since I was used to it. Yuki walked into the room her bright smile coming through the door before anything else. "Come on Nugget!!" She exclaimed as she grabbed her purse. A light chuckle left my lips as I walked behind her following her out the door.

We got to the bar early enough to get it ready. I found out that the place was a café during the day and a bar at night. I loved how Yuki was able to stand the different types of people that would come in. I wasn't really used to people so she made me the waiter to take people's orders so I could get used to them. It took a while, I still remember the first time she put me out there and I stuttered my life away and she teased me for about a week. After that people started talking to me more and I soon felt a bit better around them. Some would try and touch my wings but Yuki was there to stop them. Once we opened the building a few people started to walk in. They were regulars and greeted the both of us. A smile danced across my face. "Morning would you like your usual?" I asked walking over to get their cup of coffee.

While I was making everyone's order the bell from the door rang letting me know someone walked in. All the small chattering from the costumers stopped and it went quiet, but that didn't last to long I turned around as the group of people in the store started to crowd up screaming which I could tell in excitement. I put the cups down looking for Yuki till I remembered she left to get a few things for the café. I walked over sighing. "What's with all the commotion suddenly everyone calm down..." I said as I heard one of the costumers scream "OMG! It's Hawks the number 2 Pro-hero!! Can I have your autograph!??" At this point all their screaming was hurting my ears and horns. I walked back as I grabbed everyone with my tail putting them back in their seats and they went quiet. I turn to look at the male as I felt my heart drop. "That's the boy I fought six years ago!...Why here fucking hell.." I thought to my self as I went back behind the counter. "What would you like sir?" I asked with my back turned to him since I had to finish the orders. I turned and left the counter giving the people their orders.

He was quiet for a while his eyes droopy as if he hadn't slept in days, he just didn't seem in reality. I didn't bother to ask him anything until he decided he wanted to talk. As I was coming back I heard him say something low but loud enough for me to catch it. In response I nodded and got him his order. While I made his order I could sense he was staring at me, it felt as if every move I took he was right there with me following me with his piercing gaze. I sat his drink down looking to him. "Are you gonna keep staring or say something?" I noticed his piercing golden eyes soon looked up to my (E/C) eyes. A smirk sprang across his lips causing my heart to skip a beat. "Did he...why is he giving me that face" I felt face heat up as I looked off going to get the tips and payment from the costumers that had already left.

"You don't remember me do you...." I paused as I looked at him the soft voice left his lips so smoothly but under the smoothness of his voice there was a small hint of disappointment. My eyebrows furrowed in confusion as I looked to him though he wasn't facing me I could still feel the sense of his eyes. "Sorry...the only place I remember you from is the place we had to go against each other..." A soft chuckle filled the air as he finally turned to look at me. His once piercing eyes now soft and though he was good at hiding it I could still sense the pain he was feeling. "Did I know you before then?..." I asked as I grabbed the dishes from the empty table. "where do you think that feather on your necklace came from...." he said as he shoed me a necklace hidden under his jacket so well that I couldn't catch it. I looked at it noticing a bright orange feather as bright as mine but though it looked like mine I couldn't remember seeing him before the encounter six years ago. "I think you might have the wrong person.." I said as I brought the dishes behind the counter.

He once soft gaze became intense as if he was the predator haunting down it's prey. The silence was suffocating me from the inside out. It was soon broken by the happy squealing of Yuki running into the main area. "Nugget!! I got our lunch and some other things for the café" I looked at her as a smile crept across my face. "Mm what did you get for lunch?" I asked as she soon looked over noticing the hero sitting at the counter. "Oh? Your that number 2 hero everyone loves.. Why you look so down?" she asked as she covered her mouth shocked. "Sorry I shouldn't ask that I don't even know you... sorry you don't have to answer." A soft chuckle came from him causing me and Yuki to look at him. "What an interesting friend you have (Y/N).." I flinched as I looked at him. "I never told you my name how did you know..." He smiled and looked at me "I'm telling you this once the rest you have to find out on your own...." he said calmly. I turned to look at him completely. "Let's just say I'm a very old friend of yours...we made a promise back then...and you said something that I hope hasn't changed... I did as I promised and I still mean what I said back then..." he said as he stood, his wings spreading wide as he stretched. "What was the promise? And what did I say??.." I asked him, he was quiet for a moment turning to walk towards the door my eyes following his movement. "You will have to figure that out on your own baby bird.." he said looking back at me with a small smile on his face, leaving before I could say anything back to him.

Yuki looked at me wanting answers, her eyes filled with curiosity. "Fuck... how am I gonna explain this to her when I don't remember myself.." I sighed burying my face into hands. Yuki grabbed the bag of food sliding my plate of food in front of me. The smell of fried chicken and ramen filled my nose causing me to move my hands from my face. Yuki's eyes stayed glued to me my body filling heavy as I finally looked back into her gaze. "stop looking at me like that I don't remember what he was talking about..."
