"Young Master Thorne… May I ask about—" Dan glances at me through the rearview mirror while I peered at him without the slightest of movement, "Uh… nevermind…" He trails off, shifting his gaze back to the road ahead while I glanced out the window.
My mind wanders back to the moment I was lost in the kiss, prompting me to brush my fingers against my lips as I felt my cheeks begin to warm. I spotted Dan staring at me out of the corner of my eyes and cleared my throat as I fanned my face to disperse the heat from my cheeks.
A few minutes later, Dan brings up a different topic, pulling me out of my flower filled memories. "Young Master Thorne, I hope you did not decide to skip school yesterday. I even dropped you off directly at the school gates."
I froze, shifting my gaze away from his as I felt cold sweat trickling down my back. I feigned ignorance, claiming he was mistaken, though the tremble in my voice was a dead giveaway— only if he heard it… which he did.
