I intentionally took the longer route to grab a meal, passing by the cafe Darien was working at when I pulled to a halt on the corner of the sidewalk and watched as he scurries about trying to clean the tables and tend to the cashier. I couldn't stay for long as it wasn't a proper place to stop a bike, hence I rode off after watching him for a moment before finding a place to safely park the bike.
I pondered whether Darien had already eaten as it was sometime past two when I heard his voice. My heart hammered in my chest as I quickly hid behind the corner of the shop when I overheard him mention he was heading out to meet somebody.
My eyebrows twitched as I turn to look round the corner, catching a glimpse of Darien running down the sidewalk with an expectant expression on his face. The smile on my lips immediately waned and curved to a frown as I began to wonder if he was meeting Orion.
