"Stop! No!" Abigail's scream was earth-shaking and spine-chilling, startling Brandon Piers. He raised an eyebrow, "Hmm?"
"Give me back my phone." Abigail shouted before she realized that her behavior was too guilty; she tried to normalize her tone and added a bit of a pleading look in her eyes.
But this only made things worse. The more she acted like this, the more Brandon felt her guilt. He wondered, could she be secretly chatting with another man behind his back? Why else would she be so nervous?
Who could it be?
Brandon's face darkened. Although he knew that the likelihood of Abigail cheating was low, that didn't mean there were no other men trying to flirt with her. Maybe someone was indeed hitting on her, and she was afraid of him seeing it, thus her nervousness.
The more Brandon thought about it, the more he felt he was right. He wanted to know who the man was. As Abigail tried to snatch the phone back, he raised it high. "Speak. What's going on?"
