"Siege it…?"
Valkis paused, his forehead creased in confusion, not expecting this to be the case.
From the way Evelyn phrased this new, updated information, he was certain that she would ask him to destroy Imla City. Giving the enemy time would only risk them completing their fortress, so naturally, Imla City must be destroyed quickly.
But instead, Evelyn asked him to siege it.
"Lady Evelyn, did you perhaps say it wrong? Don't you mean destroy it?"
"No, I didn't make any mistake."
Evelyn averted her gaze, focusing on the battle map again.
Confused as to how she reached to this conclusion, Valkis went around the table and stood beside her.
"If we siege the city, we would only be giving our enemy time to finish their fortress. Aren't we setting ourselves up for failure? You said it yourself, if that fortress is finished, we're going to suffer immense casualties…"
"Said?"
"I-I meant you implied it like that."
