Chapter 87 - Hold… Hold On To Me

[NOUR]

The mourning period for the enforcer's omega went by so fast and before everyone knew it, it was already the sixth month since the tragedy. Six months where everyone watched Grant boom as the new leader of Acrod kingdom.

A timeline that had Grant waiting for the royal prince to show up and yet even then, there was nothing. The man was a ghost, one that Grant hadn't been able to figure out and at the same time, the rumors of the Ruby wolf surfacing were back again.

It was as if the ruby wolf was the one pain in the ass for Grant and that he would, ever be able to deal with, which was interesting and scary for him.

Perhaps he was hallucinating, right?

Well, that was not even something that the Lycans in Acrod could relate to.

"Pay up, Kalkan," Nour said as he looked at Delbert who was watching him with squinted eyes, unsure of what his Erasthai was talking about.

They had been placed in this compound for months and while the rest had been making movements, Nour hadn't even tried to run away. He was always training with Darius, improving his weaponry skills and on other days he was fighting with all the Lycans at the same time.

They had told him that this was about the young prince's abilities to take on formidable warriors at once and Nour wondered if they would go easy on him at that time.

Well, thankfully, they didn't go easy on him, but at the same time, they never really used the full strength on him because at the end of the day, the wolf was a ruby but also just a wolf.

They would never match their strength; unless Nour transitioned into a Lycan, and that wasn't something that the prince wanted at the moment.

"What happened?" Delbert asked sincerely and Nour groaned.

"Farah, you pay up too," Nour spoke as he smirked at Farah who groaned and cursed at Delbert.

Then again, the Merdel Lycan didn't know what this was about. The earnest confusion on his face got the others laughing at hm, because this was to the time. Or maybe he was just playing games with them; but was he?

"I can't believe I have to cough up my gold pellets because of you, Master," Farah whined and Delbert sighed.

This was not going anywhere, so he looked at his Erasthai, straight in the eyes, before he swooped in for a kiss. It was the only possible way he would think of to get an answer out of his excited mate.

Maybe that was a strange card he was pulling, but wasn't all fair in love and war?

"Won't you tell me what this is about, baby?" Delbert asked when he pulled back and a flustered Nour glared at him.

"That is considered cheating!' Nour whined, while Delbert just shoved his thumb gently into Nour's mouth, watching as the wolf's lips wrapped around the thumb delicately, before he began sucking like it wasn't even a command anymore.

"Tell me what this is about, and I'll give you more, my beautiful… more than just a thumb to suck on," Delbert said, whispering the last bit even though it was pointless because everyone in the Cornell household had super hearing.

"You people are disgusting," Darius complained.

"I can't believe this is happening for real," Ferhat groaned.

"Get a room, you two," Farah added.

"We have a deal?" Delbert asked as his baby blue eyes reflected in Nour's dark ones. The young wolf nodded in understanding, but not before he wrapped his tongue around the Lycan's thumb, sucking one more time.

"Yeah, they should," Anhora said and Farah rolled her eyes at the Lycan posing as an omega.

"She's talking about you and Ferhat, Anhora," Sophia said, walking into the room where her bunch of idiots were standing, not sure who started what.

She knew they would bicker again like always; and as annoying as they always got, Sophia couldn't deny that they made the entire Cornell house a beautiful home.

It was chaotic, but it was a home nonetheless, one that she wouldn't give up despite the fact that these psychos could go on bickering until the day ended.

"No way," Delbert said as he glanced at the mentioned duo, while carefully pulling out his wet thumb from Nour's pouty lips. The urge to lean down and kiss those lips again was intense, but he had to focus.

"Yes, way," Nour said excitedly.

"I can't believe the both of you couldn't hide it for a few more months. Now I have to cough up gold pellets too," Delbert whined, you would think that the gold he was about to cough up was going to make him bankrupt.

The man had the kind of magic that could conjure any amount of gold that he wanted, just like his twin, Alanor.

"Love is a beautiful thing, young Merdel. Besides, it is time for phase two and Anhora has no reason to be with the omega anymore. I figured I could announce him as mine and then close the chapter of his dealings with the omegas," Ferhat said confidently. T

Anyone who didn't know him would have assumed that he was truly thinking of the omega's well-being and the plan that they had all worked on so hard for the past few months.

They would think that the king's most trusted man was just being honest and efficient with the way that he ran things. But the misfits of the house Cornell knew better.

They had seen Anhora and Ferhat have a thing for each other long before the young prince had been born. They had been there for ages and ages and frankly, there was no denying that they had always wanted each other.

This was just a chance for them to come out in the open and never have to hide from their friends anymore. But even then, they shared a room in the Corner house, so there was no point in trying to think that all of this was meant to be a secret and shit.

"I see… for the plan, eh?" Farah asked curiously like she believed him.

"Of course," Ferhat said freely, adding, "and no more bets on my bond with Anhora."

"You can't be sneaky and stingy at the same time!" Nour complained.

"He thinks we haven't seen them run around and hide like two bunnies," Farah scoffed.

"Children, please," Darius motioned when he realized that this was going to run into a full-on bantering session. This was the norm and since the case was closed on the young prince's demise, a lot of things had really been easier for them.

"That's unfair!" Delbert said and Darius groaned.

"You want to get out of here soph?" Darius asked the woman who was the standing head of the family. They both knew that this was going to be as chaotic as possible but at the end of the day, it was what family would always be like, right?

Then again, they had strived to make lives better in the past few months. So much had gone according to plan and with Grant already feeling the weight of the crown, they all would agree that the second phase of their plans was ready for takeoff.

"Please, before they turn us into deaf birds," Sophia said before they left.

"Wanna get out of here, baby?" Delbert asked.

"Thought you'd never ask," Nour smirked but before they could leave, the others stared at them.

"If I hear so much as a bed creaking, I am burning down this house today," Farah warned as she looked at Anhora, Ferhat, Delbert, and Nour.

"We are never that loud," Delbert said and Nour smacked his hand as if to shut him up.

"What… it's the truth," Delbert pouted and Nour facepalmed. This was going to take a while, so he figured she could walk back to the couch and watch the mess unfold. Perhaps he had been right because there was another full-on banter.

However, as Nour watches the Lycans who were in this house, he couldn't help but be thankful for having found them. He had always been a little fucked-up and lonely, but his mate bond with Delbert had solved most of that.

These people had been like family to him and his father and if ever they ask anything of Nour, he would give it to them without question. They had saved him from a place he never had to be saved from.

They had taught him what no school ever would, and perhaps that was also why he swore that he would fight Grant until the very end.

He would get his vengeance.
