Chapter 83 - Chapter 83 The Enigmatic Black Slate

Watching the scene unfold, Pekara's face was brimming with disappointment; she puffed up her rosy cheeks in disgruntlement and, with a dismissive wave of her hand, opened another metal cabinet.

Unlike the first cabinet, the second one contained only a horizontal shelf, on which lay a stone tablet inscribed with densely packed, bizarre symbols.

The tablet was made from an ancient type of black gneiss. Its corners were slightly damaged, showing distinctive signs of weathering.

The symbols written on the tablet did not correspond to any language known to the trio — they had sharp turns and deep angles, creating an odd and discordant sense.

These characters somewhat resembled the Ancient Dragon Language that Anvis had studied, but they were clearly different.

However, although the tablet appeared very old and mysterious, it did not exhibit any magic fluctuations and seemed to be just an ordinary cultural relic excavated from some ancient ruins.
