Snow fell as grunts and yells bellowed out of the forest, One Knight held the flank of his brethren against the Viking threat the the north as they retreated south. They were overrun from their encampment at midnight. They tried to hold but it was a flood of forces that they were unable to hold. They lost half of their forces defending and retreating from their enemies. A lone Lawbringer held the flank as his ally retreat. Two Viking's stand in front of him, one was a hulking mass of muscle with a war axe in his hand, a raider known for their power and ferocity. Another much smaller warrior to his left was armed with duel axes, a berserker known for their bloodthirst in battle and know only battle.
They began to circle the Lawbringer in opposite directions trying to pick the perfect time to strike, but it seemed that the Berserker had little patients as he leaped in for the attack, both axes raised. The Lawbringer seeing this sidestepped swiftly as he began his counter attack, but doing so left him open to the Raider to his right, as the giant ran and picked the full plated Lawbringer as if he was a wheat before tossing him to the side. The Lawbringer got up quickly before blocking a swing from the raider and parrying another. He rammed the but end of his poleaxe into the raiders stomach before spearing him into a tree nearby. He rolled as the berserker came back with a fiery of blows from his side as he swept the berserker off of his feet before executing him quickly with one quick swipe to the neck.
As he did this he was hit in his side and with a heavy grunt he was thrown to the ground. He quickly stood up to face the raider as they circled each other looking for any opening and an opportune time to strike. After a few moments the raider yelled his war cry as he ran toward me. He ran and spun as he delivered a powerful strike, barely being blocked as the onslaught of attacks ensued, not stopping until he was completely out of breath, most have been blocked by the Lawbringer but not all as he could be seen bleeding though his armor as it slowly trickled down into the snow.
The Lawbringer almost on deaths door yelled out defiantly as a gold light shined around him, he then charged and lifted his poleaxe behind his head before driving it down towards the raiders shoulder. The raider tried to block the attack but it was all for naught as it broke his handle and went straight into his shoulder. The Knight pulled his blade out of the Vikings shoulder and the raider fell forward. The Knight spoke "Tu bene te ipse defendisti!" with a rough voice before decapitating the Raider.
After executing his enemy he walked away before laying down in the snow, to tired to continue before blacking out.
--------------------------------------
Waking up with blurry vision the knight tried to get to his knees, and with much difficulty was able to before using his poleaxe as support to get to his feet. He shook his head as if trying to shake off his fatigue before looking at his surroundings. Things were very different, no sign's of the snowy forest was anywhere to be found, everything was green and filled with life and the bodies of the Vikings were nowhere to be found, he heard birds chirping and water rushing as he looked to his left to see a small river.
He walked to the river with slow steps before collapsing to his knees and taking his helmet off. A man in his 30's could be seen with rugged stubble and a scar from his ear to his collarbone. He had short cut black hair and blue eyes. He was tall being 6'5, looking at his reflection in the water he drunk as to wash away the hoarseness in his throat before washed himself down as to get all the blood and dirt off of most of his armor and weapon.
After cleaning off his things he followed the river downstream, hoping to find civilization along the way. He did this for quite some time before hearing shouts and screams coming from his right, so he shot out in a sprint toward them, ducking and diving between trees before coming into a clearing. Clearly he found himself a ambush, a cart filled with people and grain being halted by 5 men, weapons out ready to spill blood if needed.
Although there was one thing he didn't quite get, they spoke the tongue of the Samurai. Luckily for him he learned most of the language when he was campaigning with them, sometime they would put aside their differences fight against those barbarians, and now it seems to pay off besides those few other times talking among them.
One of the bandits yelled out "Just hand over any valuables and nobody gets hurt, as simple as that!" Two of the people among the cart got off weapons drawn ready to fight. One yelled out "Go away you thieves, we wish to only deliver this grain to the next village, so turn away before unneeded blood may be spilt!" One man from the bandits group stepped forward before chuckling "Hehe sorry not happening, I need the money so just leave your valuables. While I know it wont be easy to kill you two, that doesn't mean you can protect the rest behind you as you defend yourself now can you?" The two people began to get ready to fight as a bandit shot out with a stab from his short-sword, stabbing one of the guards in the shoulder before shooting back into a defensive stance.
There was an intense stare down before both parties heard loud clanking of metal coming from the forest nearby, they turned to look before eyeing the behemoth of metal armor, his armor was battle-worn but never enough to be broken, covered in cloth with orange highlights. Both bandits and people in the caravan slightly confused and scared as to where he came from, why would this giant of metal appear here of all places?
He was about twenty feet away before lifting his weapon and pointing it towards the bandits. The Knight yelled in a gruff deep voice "Get ready for my blade, because it carries the law with it!"

OOF, that last line felt cringe to write to be completely honest, but that's the best I could come up with.
