Rolling his eyes, Johnny didn't see the punch coming. Not expecting anything like that from his friend, Johnny felt the full force of Yosaku's fist on his own jaw. The punch, powerful enough to kill a person instantly, sent Johnny flying ten meters, after which he tumbled along the pavement for another ten meters before coming to a stop.
Johnny, lifting himself on his hands and sitting on his backside, rubbed his slightly numb jaw from the blow and then looked up at Yosaku, who was approaching him.
"What the hell are you doing?!"
"I was going to ask you the same thing! Are you planning to run away?!! Where the hell are you going?!!!"
"Idiot! He's a Logia! How do you plan to fight him if you can't even hit him?!"
"The usual way!" came the furious, completely illogical response. "And I plan to win! Or are you going to spend your whole life hiding behind Zoro-ani and Luffy-ani?!!" Yosaku struck directly at Johnny's most sensitive spot, completely forgetting Luffy's order not to call him by his real name. Fortunately for Yosaku, with the fire Johnny had started, burning the houses around them, no one could hear their argument over the crackling of burning boards. "And didn't you yourself say that Luffy-ani ordered us to deal with the local captain? Do you want to say that Luffy-ani didn't know he was a Logia? Are you completely stupid, or can you at least make the right conclusions? Or are you so scared of the sight of a Logia that you can't think straight? I never thought my best friend would be such a coward!"
"Coward?!" Johnny jumped up from the ground as if stung. "Who's the coward here?!! I was taking care of you, you dumbass!!! Unlike you, I can drive him away with fire, and all you can do is be a punching bag!!!"
"A punching bag?!!" Yosaku's forehead met Johnny's. "Either you take back your words right now, or I'll turn you into a punching bag myself!!!"
"You?!! Made the hedgehog laugh with cat's ass! You don't have the strength!!!"
"You're the only idiot here! They say, 'Scared hedgehog with naked ass,' what the hell do you mean by making laugh and with a cat's ass?! Scared shitless, and now the stench of your own crap is preventing you from thinking clearly?!"
Instead of answering, Johnny threw a punch at Yosaku's jaw. Out of arguments? Lost the argument? Then, as Luffy taught, it was time to use force, because the one who is stronger is right… even if they are completely wrong. A minute later, Smoker, having ensured his men's safe retreat, hurried back to the interrupted battle. He was worried that his opponents might either escape or attack the soldiers on the other side of the street. None of these options were acceptable to Smoker. However, what the captain certainly did not expect to see was his opponents rolling around on the ground and desperately beating each other, not forgetting to reinforce their blows with select curses and various insulting comparisons. Smoker involuntarily froze in place, watching the spectacle before him. Although, it must be said, the captain's experience did not let him down. Smoker quickly managed to pull himself together, but he was in no hurry to intervene in his opponents' fight. Why should he? While they were handling each other, it would be foolish to get involved in their quarrel. Moreover, the wait did not last long. Soon, squads armed with various modifications of seastone nets arrived, and they were about to restrain both of the rolling guys when 'Beheader,' having jumped up, attacked the fallen "Butcher" with a familiar attack:
"Karyu no Hoko (Fire Dragon's Roar)!!!"
Fire spread in a wave across the ground, then soared up, enveloping a significant portion of the street in a sea of flames, from the center of which came a wild scream of a person burning alive. The scream quickly stopped. Smoker was bewildered again. A minor scuffle in the team was one thing, but burning someone alive? And this after all the praise he'd heard about the 'Pirate Slayers' family? If he hadn't seen 'Beheader' and his fire attacks with his own eyes, Smoker would have long started doubting the truth of everything he had heard.
In the next moment, only the captain's experience saved him from his most foolish defeat. At the last moment, the captain managed to jump aside and still barely avoided a seastone net flying past him… only to land in another. Drawing his jitte from behind his back, Smoker threw it with all his might at the flying net. It worked. Instead of wrapping around Smoker, the net ensnared his jitte, giving the captain time for a safe retreat. A moment later, Smoker saw 'Butcher' land next to his fallen jitte, having jumped from the roof of the nearest house. A little to the side, directly from the blazing wall of fire, 'Beheader' emerged with a powerful seastone net thrower on his shoulder. Surprisingly, the fire capable of melting stone had no effect on the guy's seastone net, unlike Yosaku's net and himself. Smoker involuntarily held his breath as he watched the monstrous burns on the "Butcher" heal before his eyes. In just a few seconds, the man-head had turned back into an ordinary man. Only completely naked and with a melted seastone net, which was unceremoniously thrown onto the pavement, while Yosaku began to disentangle Smoker's jitte from the entangled net.
"Oh my god!" a few seconds later, Yosaku's surprised and delighted voice rang out. "Ryu, this jitte has a seastone tip, we're saved!"
Initially, Yosaku intended to seize Smoker's weapon simply because it belonged to a hated Logia… if he couldn't defeat him, at least he'd cause trouble. However, realizing that instead of petty malice he had obtained a real weapon against Logias, Yosaku's enthusiasm soared to the skies. If it weren't for the monstrous durability of the seastone net, he would have torn it to pieces immediately. Still, the net couldn't hold Yosaku for long, so he soon looked at the jitte in his hand as if he were holding one of the most legendary swords in the world.
"Congratulations, mister, you're stupid!" said Yosaku, satisfied, casting a spiteful glance at the frowning Smoker. "Instead of just tying us up with your fruit's power, you handed us a weapon against yourself. I think that's the height of stupidity, don't you think, Ryu?"
"I think we're still screwed, even if we manage to defeat him," Johnny sighed heavily.
"Oh well, big deal... what else can he do to us?" Yosaku immediately understood where his friend was going but did not share his feelings.
"I have no idea… and I sincerely hope he didn't hear you, otherwise, we're screwed," Usually, Yosaku was the voice of reason in their duo, but not today.
