Chapter 11 - Chapter 11- Beginnings finally.

It has been four years. During this time, Aster has built a strong team, starting with his first Pokémon—Eevee. Over four years, it became his closest companion, and through rigorous training, it evolved into Glaceon. Now, it stands as his most powerful Pokémon.

Along the way, He also caught a Magikarp, which evolved into Gyarados a year ago, and a Poliwhirl. Thanks to Lorelei's training facilities, Glaceon has benefited from Elite Four-level conditioning, refining its skills to an elite standard. Aster also unlocked the Pokémon status and psychic abilities through intensive training.

Aster's POV

As previously mentioned, the four years has been Everything changed after we returned from Lorelei's battle against Tobias. It was my first time witnessing a true high-stakes Pokémon battle, and I was captivated. The sheer power of the Dragonite, the way she countered Tobias's every move, the intensity—it sparked something inside me.

That night, I asked her, "Mom, can you train me?"

She blinked, surprised. "Train you? You're three."

"I want to be strong," I insisted, eyes shining. "Like you."

For a long moment, she just looked at me, then she sighed and smirked. "Alright, Aster. If you really want this, I won't hold back."

And she didn't.

The Training Begins

First, she made sure I mastered swimming. It started easy—laps in a heated pool—but soon evolved into open-water swims in freezing conditions. She'd throw me into the icy sea near Four Island and make me swim back to shore. I hated it at first, but over time, I adapted. The cold stopped bothering me as much. My endurance grew.

Then came self-defense. Since I was still a kid, brute strength wasn't an option, so she focused on jiujitsu—leveraging an opponent's strength against them. At first, I got tossed around by her stronger Pokémon, but eventually, I learned how to counter. One day, I managed to flip a cocky Seel onto its back. That earned me a rare, proud grin from her.

Beyond that, she made sure I could handle myself in Pokémon battles. Training with Glaceon gave me the basics, but she forced me to think tactically. She had me battle trainers visiting the Sevii Islands, teaching me how to adapt to different styles. Under her guidance, I learned how to predict moves, counter strategies, and exploit weaknesses.

These experiences helped me unlock much of my psychic skills. Also, Precognition is not like observation haki; it is more like from time to time, I am given some fragmented detail about things that will affect me. The details could be something worthless like the weather or even the numbers to the lotto for 10 million. I had asked Lorelei to buy me a lotto which she agreed to surprisingly. When I won, much of the money would go to taxes. It was Lorelei who was going to deal with it so I went 50/50 some would be taken away by taxes and a good percentage was hers to keep, which was fair so Lorelei agreed. Over time, I have not used my funds which have sat at five million.

By the time I was seven, I had met every condition.

But there was still one final test.

The Final Battle Against Lorelei

"If you win, I'll let you go," she said, standing across from me on her personal battlefield. The icy terrain mirrored my own training—sharp winds, frozen ground, and no room for error. "But I won't hold back."

I nodded, my heart pounding. This was it.

She sent out Lapras. A tank. Hard to take down, especially with Glaceon's best moves being Ice-type. But I had planned for this.

"Glaceon, Double Team!"

Mirrored copies flickered across the battlefield just as Lapras fired a Surf, crashing through the ice. The illusions faded, but the real Glaceon leaped onto a floating chunk of ice, unharmed.

Lorelei smirked. "Good. But not good enough. Lapras, Body Slam!"

The massive Pokémon launched itself forward. I had to act fast.

"Ice Beam, then Shadow Ball!"

Glaceon's Ice Beam froze the battlefield even further, making it more difficult for Lapras to move. As Lapras struggled for footing, the Shadow Ball struck its chest, forcing it back.

Lorelei's eyes gleamed. "Nice trick. But this is over. Lapras, Sheer Cold!"

The moment she called it, my pulse spiked.

A direct hit meant instant knockout. No dodging, no tanking it.

"Glaceon, Hail!"

A flurry of snow engulfed the battlefield, Snow Cloak activating, making Glaceon even harder to hit. Sheer Cold swept through—but missed.

"Now—Blizzard!"

The intensified storm raged through, freezing over the battlefield. Lapras, already slowed by the ice, struggled under the onslaught.

"End it! Mirror Coat!"

A shimmering barrier formed around Glaceon, reflecting the last remnants of Sheer Cold's energy. The attack rebounded, striking Lapras with a devastating force.

A pause. Then—Lapras collapsed.

Silence filled the battlefield.

Then, Lorelei laughed.

"You really are something else, Aster." She recalled Lapras and walked over to me, placing a hand on my shoulder. "You've proven yourself."

I had done it.

I had earned my place.

And now, my journey could begin.

Pewter City – Pokémon Center

Upon arrival, I navigated through the suburban streets, following the directions on my PokéNav—another gift, courtesy of Agatha.

The Pokémon Center was bustling. Trainers with their Pokémon—some sick, some injured, others perfectly fine—filled the waiting area. I approached the counter, where Nurse Joy greeted me with a warm smile.

"How can I help you?" she asked.

"I'd like to heal my Pokémon," I replied, handing over two Pokéballs containing Gyarados and Poliwhirl. Glaceon, as usual, was outside its ball, standing at my side.

"Of course! Please wait a moment while I take care of them."

I nodded and took a seat on a nearby bench. Deciding to use the time wisely, I went to the telephone booth and called Lorelei.

The screen lit up, and soon, my mom's face appeared.

"Hello, Aster. How was the flight?"

"It was fine. I just got my Pokémon checked in at the Center. After this, I'm heading to the Gym."

Lorelei gave me a knowing look. "Don't rush. Make sure your Pokémon are in top condition before the battle."

I smirked. "I will. Talk later, Mom."

I retrieved my Pokémon and stepped outside, ready to take my next step toward becoming a Champion.
