Chapter 25 - The Finale (End)

"So here you are planning to defeat me to prove you are stronger than me?"

"Exactly, now you die."

"Sorry to break it to you but if the ruler of hell is decided upon the number of sins you committed, how is defeating me solving anything?"

"....."

"You never thought about it, did you?"

"...."

The fight came to a sudden halt as if frozen by a magic spell. It took some time for Greig to come back to earth after getting lost in his thoughts after listening to Leesa's words. "Shit! Even killing you at this point seems to be useless," With that, Greig finally realized that his plan was a bit over the top.

"So now what, Mr. the ex-possible ruler of hell?"

"Shut up!"

Leesa visibly controlled her laughter. "You know if only you were almighty God, then you would have the power to keep me in the living world. Having such power would keep me trapped in the living world while allowing you to do whatever you want in hell. Wouldn't it be nice if you applied for God's next-in-line position?"

The thought process of Greig's mind exploded thinking about the failure of the future of his plan, "Screw you, damn it".

"Well, it's not like you were going to win against me anyway."

"What? You think I am weak?"

"Well... yes weaker than me. I sympathize with you though."

"Hah, you really...," Greig started attacking again. He believed that even if his original plan failed due to his inability to grasp one flaw, he should still emerge victorious in this battle to prove his worthiness for the throne.

[However, it was an impossible task. The power levels of Leesa and Greig moved at different wavelengths.

Leesa's combat analysis - Size: 50, Strength: 70, Speed: 100, Focus: 100, Aggression: 100, Fighting skills: 100, Experience: off the charts.

Greig's combat analysis - Size: 60, Strength: 50, Speed: 60, Focus: 100, Aggression: 80, Fighting skills: 40, Experience: 50.]

On the other hand, Leesa grew tired of the prolonged battle and chose to bring it to an end. She proceeded to defend against the attacks and waited for the right moment to strike and defeat him. As Greig's attack got weaker due to emotional malfunctioning, Leesa seized the chance to close in on the offensive, taking advantage of his lack of stability, which proved to be heavy on his mana powers. As she approached, Leesa wielded her sword horizontally, aiming to avoid making a bloody mess out of Greig. One strike from her sword's backside onto Greig's neck was enough to put him into a slumber as he had already given in to his focus and was exhausting himself of his magic power. With this decisive move, Leesa emerged as the victorious champion of the tournament, while Greig lay unconscious on the ground.

"Sister, you did it!" cried Byrant, overjoyed by Leesa's victory.

"Yes, she won, a perfect win," says Weinne, wiping off her tears of joy.

Cheers could be heard from all parts of the audience. The crowd was electric with joy and Lilian felt a burst of pride as she watched her daughter take her victory. She knew that all the hard work and dedication had paid off. As her daughter waved to the crowd, Lilian felt a deep sense of satisfaction. Actually, Leesa was waving her hands at Byrant and Weinne whose cheers could be heard throughout the arena. She was waving and glaring at them to make them shut as she had already felt enough embarrassment when they were cheering for her in her last match. Little did Leesa know; that her mom was the main criminal behind this trial of embarrassment she had felt. Lilian was the one motivating them to cheer for her. As soon as Leesa won, even Flavian could not control himself and screamed, making Elzar astonished at how his image of a calm and proper prince had begun crumbling. Due to this Jeremy who was also there had to take action to put Flavian back in his seat by pressing him down.

Meanwhile, Darrell Marlene was sitting in his seat quietly as the chaos occurred. This situation is similar to a thunderstorm, with Byrant and Weinne being the lightning striking, Flavian as the thunder rolling, Lilian as the rain dampening everything down, and Darrell as the calm sky watching over it all. His shocked state could not handle the turn of unpredictable events. 'Leesa won, she actually won against these ruffians, my lovely and fragile daughter did!'

The emperor came forth to the Pavilion to announce the great victory of Leesa and closing remarks for the tournament, "After five days of the tournament we finally have our winner Leesa Marlene daughter of Duke Darrell Marlene and the Duchess Lillian Marlene and the only princess of the Astandra empire. As for the reward she shall be granted the position of personal assistant to the crown prince Flavian Attila Hadrian, the main reason for organising the tournament. And now all three finalists shall come to the pavilion for their badges."

As told, all three went in reverse order to collect their winning badges. Hendricus recovered from his last match wounds and was at least able to carry himself to the pavilion where the emperor was waiting. Since Greig was unable to get up and so it was given to Jeremy to pass it on to him. And lastly, Leesa went to get her badge. She was the least injured of all but was a little bit tired. The gold badge shining on her chest felt more rewarding to Leesa than she had assumed, her primary goal for entering the tournament was just to test her skills and strength.

After the distribution of badges, Flavian appeared at the pavilion accompanied by Elzar and Jeremy to congratulate Leesa on her outstanding win. "You were as amazing as ever my lady," said Flavian, taking Leesa's hand and giving a light kiss on her hand. While Jeremy was seeing Leesa for the first time, he felt somewhat familiar with Leesa and all the credit goes to Flavian who had been rambling around all the time about her. "Congratulations on your victory, Lady Marlene," he wished and left as there were some important matters to be addressed.

Leesa was informed by Flavian that she could have the next day and the day after tomorrow as a rest day and join the palace later. She will have to leave Marlene's residency and live in the royal palace as suiting her position. Having learned this Leesa pondered as to how she could reject this award for the tournament and live her life peacefully in the dukedom as she has been till now.
