The warm sunlight spilled across the mountain peaks as Yang Kai stretched his muscles, having spent the morning getting accustomed to his new power, abilities, and system functions. He had read through all of his rewards, fully understanding just how overpowered he had become.
And yet, despite his godly potential…
He still had to sweep the damn floor.
Holding the broom, he sighed. "Even with all this power, I still have to do this crap, huh?"
The wooden broom swept across the courtyard floor as he worked mechanically, his mind elsewhere—thinking about the next steps.
He had no plans of wasting time like the original Yang Kai. The plotline? It was his playground now.
💢 The Mob Appears
Not long after, a mob of disciples began gathering around. Their expressions were eager, their bodies buzzing with excitement.
Today was the fifth day.
That meant today was the day when Yang Kai was forced to fight one of them—a rule in High Heaven Pavilion where disciples could challenge someone every five days. If the challenged disciple lost, two contribution points would be deducted and given to the winner.
For months, Yang Kai had been easy prey.
These mobs of students had taken turns beating him nearly to death and farming contribution points off him.
But today…
Today was different.
As the students surrounded him, they were already fighting among themselves—competing for who would be the first to beat up Yang Kai and steal his contribution points.
Yang Kai, however, simply smirked, watching their childish struggles with amusement.
At that moment—

One of the students stepped forward, bowing mockingly.

Yang Kai narrowed his eyes, his lips curling into a cold smirk.

For a moment, silence.
Then—uproar.
😆 "Pffft, did he just say ALL of us?!"

One of the more arrogant students sneered at him and stepped forward.
"Senior, I think we heard wrong. Could you repeat that?"
Yang Kai's expression remained cold as ice.
"You heard me. I'm challenging all of you."
The sneers turned into looks of disbelief. Then, mockery.
They thought he was delusional.
They thought he was digging his own grave.
They had no idea.
One of them, Zhou Ding Jun, stepped forward. He was at the 4th Stage of Body Tempering, a level higher than what they thought Yang Kai was at.
"Senior, please."
Zhou Ding Jun charged forward, his fist flying straight toward Yang Kai's face.
Yang Kai stood still, completely unbothered.
At the last second—
BANG!
With one kick, Yang Kai sent him flying into a tree, knocking him out instantly.

Silence.
The mocking sneers vanished instantly, replaced by stunned shock.
Their eyes widened as they stared at Zhou Ding Jun's unconscious body.
One kick.

Up in a nearby tree, a graceful figure watched everything unfold.
Xia Ning Chang, a disciple of the Dark Hall, had been observing Yang Kai for months. She was responsible for recording fight results of disciples, and every time, she saw the same thing.
Yang Kai, beaten nearly to death.
It was a routine. A sad, predictable 147-loss streak.
But today—she was shocked.
She couldn't see through his cultivation.
"Impossible… Five days ago, he was at the Body Tempering Stage… and now I can't sense his level?"
Her shock made her lose focus, and suddenly—

The branch beneath her broke.

With a thump, she landed flat on her bum, hard enough to jolt her entire body.
Pain shot through her, and anger flared in her eyes as she glared at Yang Kai from afar.
"This is all his fault!" she fumed.
She had never lost her balance before. She had always remained calm, collected, and professional. But because Yang Kai broke his record of 147 defeats, she had lost her focus.
Flustered, she vanished from the scene.
Yang Kai, however, had already noticed her.
His lips curled into a smirk.
"Xia Ning Chang… huh? Heh, I don't have the patience to wait for the plot to unfold naturally."
His next target was set.
🔥 The Massacre
Returning his attention to the remaining 39 students, Yang Kai cracked his knuckles.
"Alright, let's finish this."
One by one, the students fell before him.
Even with his power sealed, his dragon-enhanced physique made him nearly untouchable.
In mere minutes, all 40 disciples were lying on the ground, bruised, broken, and unconscious.
Today, the predator had become the hunter.
