The next round of zombies were heard moaning and growling as they tried to scale the wall. I just had enough of these idiots so I climbed up the wall and wailed. They heard the sound and started falling down like flies. The soldiers burned them immediately. When I came down I heard one of the people from Necropolis explain the process at that we have used to eliminate these vermin. The residents in the Whitehouse promised to give it a try when they had a moment to check the items in their armory.
I was escorted to one of the rooms upstairs. I got myself cleaned up and walked up the roof. I laid down to watch the night sky. I saw a shooting star go by. It goes to prove that no matter what is going on in our life. The sun will rise and it will set. The day will move on even if we are stuck in whatever physical or emotional turmoil. This felt profound till someone had the nerve to poke me. I asked him if his mother had taught him any manners. The poking stopped and I looked up to see that a soldier was staring at me weirdly. I laughed nervously, "What did I do?" He said that the roof is off limits. I apologized that I forgot that this ain't my grandma's house. I promised to remember not go to the roof. He gave me a nod and I jumped off the roof to help the doctors again. He said a few profanities as he watched me land on my feet.
They were surprised that I came back to help. I explained that I don't get tired. This was news to them as they sat down to rest as I took care of the injured one by one. The soldiers watched as I helped till there were no injured left. I heard the screams of innocent people and ran to rescue them. The people who were three children stuck in a car with a zombie inside it. I ripped the door out and grabbed them all. They sobbed as I carried them to safety. The soldiers were surprised that I can fly. The kids were sent to triage and treated. The zombie in question was their mom. I hugged them till they calmed down. I walked out of the tent to see a few people were giving me mixed expressions but I paid no attention to them.
I sat down to watch the sun rise and asked the guys who were fit to fight to come with me to take down the zombie menace. The vampires couldn't so they stayed indoors. The werewolves came with me along with a few soldiers. When we got out we saw the zombies were gone so I had to fly up in the air to make sure the zombies would come out of hiding. I saw them clawing at parking lot that had a crack. They were trying to dig their way to other side. I used the radio to inform others and they used sniper rounds to take them out. After a grenade was used to blow them up. We used thermal imaging on drones to track the rest of the zombies.
We found the next batch near a diner. They were running in the direction of car crash. I got there first and helped the family get out. We managed to hide when those things came. They were not very happy to see that they were too late. I asked the family to be very quiet since these things are attracted to people for two reasons. Screams and the smell of blood. They kept their mouths shut as we tried to move slowly. I used echolocation and tried to find a safe route. We hid behind cars and other buildings till we reached the post where the guys with guns were. As soon as we got past them the kids started to cry. The parents tried to soothe them as the soldiers shot down the menace that was attracted to the kid's screams.
They moved in my direction as I got the family to safety. Then I came back to see that they were about to face one of the intelligent ones. They were waiting for them. I knew if I fly then I won't reach them so I screamed. The zombies fell to the floor writhing in extreme pain. The guys looked at me and gave me a thumbs up. I used echolocation and found a convoy of survivors. I approached them with my hands raised. I pointed them to the DC area and explained that it has been cleared of zombies. They happily turned that way and found themselves in front of a guarded wall. They let them through as quickly as possible. When the city was cleansed. The people decided to wait a few weeks before they left the safety of the Whitehouse.
When the sunset the vampires joined us too. We explored the city used thermal imaging and echolocation. The humans managed find out when there Radar was acting weird. They were very impressed. The humanized ones were staring at me angrily. They had to use all sorts of equipment while I use none of those things. I can whisper and my kind could hear me crystal clear. Which meant we didn't need any sort of radio.
When we were certain that those things were eradicated for now we went back to safety. The vampires sat down with the werewolves to talk while the humanized ones went to triage for recovery along with the humans. They watched as I drank blood and the scratches and cuts disappeared like they were nothing more than their imagination. One of them asked me if there was anyone that can heal like that. The neo-vampires explained the original vampires and werewolves can. Both have weaknesses so they found a way to fix it but ended losing the gifts thay came with it. So now the ones with immunity their weakness has no gifts. The neo-vampires explained that they are as good as humans except they have a slightly longer life span. The same as human the neo-vampires have expiration date. After they have been injected with the stuff they only survive two hundred years and they die. Meanwhile the original ones have survived thousands of years. The worst part is if they misbehave there is a cure that could reverse them to being human. If that happens then they can't change back to vampire or werewolf.
I explained that the whole thing is a test to see of they can show responsibility. If they did the others would have changed them to permanently. Then they will either avoid daylight or be sick when they touch silver but they would have a life. They have proven their jealousy that is what caused the great war in the first place. People who believe the world is their oyster and caused mayhem. Innocent people including their own family. I have seen the from the memories of vampires and werewolves how the wrong person gaining that ability. They gave me the 'You are not fooling us' look.So I showed them the memory of Cain trying to stop a rogue werewolf again. The others paused for a moment and I asked them if they have the memory like we do where we show them something once and they remember. Their expression told me no. I pursed my lips to stop myself from shouting profanities. The one that hated me apologized. The humans looked at me weirdly as one the neo-werewolves explained what has done. They were surprised at my abilities but to keep it a secret since they knew a few who wanted power to rule the world.
We reached out to people in other states that were fighting these things and explained how to take them down. It took a few days but they managed to kill all of it. People started to rebuild their lives. And I felt it was best that we go home. There was some that agreed that we leave while others thought we should stay here in DC area.
