Eska and Kiska explained the situation to a young man in military garb. Then he called it in to HQ which was not far from here. I saw a war tent was pitched a quarter mile from where we were. People were typing on computers or their coms or walking around barking orders or receiving orders. There were those that were cleaning their guns. They saw us and gave us dirty looks. They kept staring at us till they were ordered to go elsewhere. A old man in a camouflage t-shirt came out and gave the orders to fire.
I heard bangs and gunfire again. The sound of the explosions grew louder. So I climbed the top of a tree to observe what was going on. I saw the rebel headquarters called Burgess was being emptied as they heard that missiles were coming. The people came out like ants from an ant hill. The building collapsed as it rained missile after missile till it was leveled. Fighter jets flew above me and I heard tanks barrelling forward. I heard foot falls as though soldiers were trying to catch up to the weapons. The rest of the rebels relented and they surrendered.
When the last of them were detained we were asked to remain calm as the military conducted a door to door inspection to make sure to get any stragglers hiding to attack them in a moment's notice. That inspection of Valentina took more than half a day. The check points were removed before lunch the next day. The military built a temporary bridge to allow medics, construction crew and other soldiers to pass through. I was asked by Kiska to change my looks. I quickly hide and changed my appearance to resemble Irene.
The military asked that we remain for a few hours but a helicopter arrived to take us back to October. I got to see the beautiful greenery and the towering mountains, glistening lakes and majestic rivers till it was time to land. The men that received us took me to an underground tunnel. We walked till we reached a storm drain that lead us to the sea. A yacht was waiting to take me closer to October. It took a week to reach Long Beach. Then a plane took me to Rainier and finally a modifier helicopter or should I say a helix took me to October.
An hour later the helix landed and I was met with a curious Roland. He was followed by Oleg and a new werewolf. They wanted to know why I didn't come here after Jasper's funeral. I said that I needed to clear my head so I left for greendale. It was the last time my life made sense. I was also trying to be incognito since Jayden was adamant on proving that I was awake. This sobered a lot of people who were there to receive me including Soren and his consort. They smiled at me as they escorted me to my new quarters.
It was huge with a four poster bed, a huge antique mirror, a large carpet, a huge fireplace and a veranda so big it should be considered an apartment all by itself. The bathroom was enormous as well. It had a bathtub big enough to fit twenty werewolves comfortably. My response earned a few laughs while others tried to take in how I think. I was asked to change my outfit and meet everyone at the council chambers.
I arrived to see a woman in black neo goth outfit was arguing about the current situation. She saw me and asked if I could help her ivestigate. The response was immediate. The werewolves protested saying that I was not an errand girl. So she had to apologized. I was given a seat in the council. Soren's own seat till he steps down from it. The other that will take his place was his second in command. His title was prince Abraham. He was a werewolf which was controversial as it was but never the less still respected. The woman asked why a stranger was given Soren's seat. To which the response was simple when Abraham steps down I will be sitting on the throne. So this was me still have a voice in the council.
After an hour discussing finance and security the meeting was convened. I was heading towards the garden when I was told that I must head towards my room. They were invited to the annual unity day ball. It was the day humans and nocturnals stared to get along. I was told that the party was nonnegotiable so I dragged my feet upstairs. Oleg promised to take me to an underground club afterwards so I quickly went upstairs to get ready.
Inside my room were a few maids with sponges and brushes. I was given a thorough scrub down and I was dressed in navy blue. I had to wait til Soren and Abraham arrived and we each had our own limousine. We drove to the most boring building ever. The white house. First to get out was Soren. He was greeted by a man named Ben Watts. He was a full bird colonel. The next to get out was Abraham. Then finally me. When I got out a familiar face came to escort me.
It was Taylor. I smiled as I knew that he won't recognize me. I didn't waved at him. He came to talk to me but Oleg got in the way. I had to walk up the steps on my own. Taylor was told that he can't converse with me without the presence of her guards. We were let in one by one. Before we entered the man by the door introduced us. First introduction was of Emperor Soren and his consort Samantha, then the human were introduced to Prince Abraham then Princess Alexi.
Taylor watched as I stare at the clock every few minutes. He asked me to dance and we got to dance for a little bit but that was it. Roland cut in and I had to excuse myself to use the restroom. One of my new werewolf guards named Samara checked me for any bugs. She found one in the back of my dress. She pulled it out and crushed it with her foot. I apologized for any inconvenience. She gave me a smile and I went back to the party. Taylor had a weird look on his face. I was happy that human were getting along but wasting food is not a way to celebrate. I mean there people in the world who don't even get a single meal. This is not fair. I had to listen to about thirty people talk about why we were there. And then awards were given to both sides before a moment of silence was given in my honor. The party seems to be going on forever so I sent Oleg to ask permission to leave. Since one of the humans bugged me. Soren seemed concerned. He and Abraham spoke back and forth for a little about who it could be and why. Then the council expressed their concerns.
Abraham gave Oleg the nod and Soren gave me permission to leave. I was escorted out of the building. I didn't have to wait for my car since a new vehicle arrived to take me away. It was an Audi. The limo was sent away and my security drove an SUV. I changed as Samara drove. We arrived at a Japanese restaurant where it felt like I was transported to the Edo period. Men and women in kimono robes greeted me. Their eyes were an indicator that they were nocturnals as well. The vampires has blue eyes while the entire eyes of the werewolves were pitch black. The boss was woman dressed in an empress outfit. She escorted me to the storeroom.
She pushed a button on the thermostat and the floor began to descend. After seeing the wall for a minutes I saw a corridor and a brand new door painted teal appear. There was a man with bulging muscles by the door. I guess he is the bouncer. He gave me a smile as he opened the door. When I walked in everyone became quiet. They showed their respect by bowing and I did too. After which I asked that everyone have a great night. Immediately as though they were given permission the music resumed. The music bounced around and I felt the sound bounce off the floor. I saw the zombies were trying to crawl out so I ran to the guy playing the music and asked them to stop. The music stopped and I explained what was going on. Immediately the werewolves ran to the veranda. While the vampires glued themselves to the ceiling. I waited till I saw the cracks begin to form and took a deep breath. Oleg asked everyone to cover their ears. They did so without hesitation. When the first zombie crawled out I let out a huge scream and the zombie died instantly. I kicked him out of the way and let out the loudest scream in my entire life. The other zombies died too. I pushed my way down and made sure the rest were dead before I came up. The empress lady placed a hazard sign around the hole and the party resumed.
