I called Oleg and he walked in and asked me to stay in his head. I said it felt like I was violating him. I tapped his shoulder and got out of his head. He staggered back but got back to his feet. He gave me a calm expression and walked out. Roland asked if he was fired and Oleg said, "She severed the link she made in my head after Abe's departure. The shock that there were still backstabbers was painful for her. She couldn't understand how Abe could smile and plan against her and others. She linked with me mentally to stay focused. She needed stability."
Roland volunteered to synchronize with my mind. I said I don't want to trespass. I rather face my problems head on. I was sitting in sunroom when someone from Pearl called. She asked if I could come over. I smiled, "I want to you understand something. If you prove to be better than me your problems begin. They will dissect you to make more like you." The hybrid angrily said, "You're lying." I grinned, "Ask one of the scientists who is putting you through all these scenario. I am sure they will tell you the exact procedures they have in mind." She ended the call in a fit of rage. I counted to thirty seconds and waved my hand. The video call rang, "What's the verdict?" She and all the other hybrids looked scared, "You weren't kidding. What should we do?" I said, "Just walk out of that lab. Go home and learn how to live in the city as a citizen. Get a job. Get married. Have kids. If things gets too out of hand move elsewhere. But don't let anyone dissect you. I will talk to Link. He will pass a law that should protect you. You helped them unknowingly but now you know what's going on. You have nothing to worry about. Just calmly walk out of the building and never go back there again." She thanked me and hung up.
There are twenty five hybrids in that research facility in Pearl. All of them went back home and finished their studies and got jobs. The scientists complained to their parents who refused to hand them over. The law clearly states that experimenting must be done with the person's consent and knowledge of what will happen start to finish. Since they left out the part about dissect. The science department that were doing illegal experiments with hybrids was disbanded and the lab coats walked to the streets to protest. There only few that joined them. The rest were pleased to have things go the way things are. Some said it should have happened sooner. The building was demolished and was made into vacant lots. I suggested vertical farms and hydroponic systems. The locals concured. The farms were made within a week's time. The hybrid kids helped to make it and some even worked there. They worked to make foods that didn't contain chemical or genetic modification. All natural and holistic.
Link invited me over to his palace for a party so I came. We talked and he asked if we could dance. I said that it is forbidden. Link said, "We are just dancing as friends. There is no harm in it." I protested, "You are a married man. It would unbecoming. I would recommend you dance with her" he looked like he rather jump out the window but he went with her regardless. Soren asked if we could dance. I got up with him and we waltz a little. Then Link tried to cut in. But Soren held a firm grip till the waltz was over. Link's wife Miranda dragged him to center of the room to dance. When we sat down.
Link asked why I danced with Soren but him. Soren said, "We are sworn as brother and sister so us dancing will have no problems. You have proposed to her several times and she has refused your advances so it will look awkward. Besides a consort or spouse can't be ruler. She is going to be empress after you so she can't be your spouse so you could be her spouse when she rules. You want to dance with Sasha swear that you and her are brother and sister from now on. He sat on his throne and watched as I danced with a few people. He got angrier as I laughed with William. Once the party was over I walked to the elevator. Link wanted to come too but his wife stopped him. He gave a look of contempt and walked off. Oleg was happy to escort me to my room. The others were read across the floor. Link called me wanting to know if I could join him in the garden. I tried to be reasonable, "Link! Go with your wife" I hung up and took a shower. The line kept ringing. I was so annoyed so I just packed my things left for Luna. The train arrived to take us away. His wife Mirana came to see me off. Link came and I held his hand and declared that from today onwards till we died he is my uncle from another family. Link looked at me like he was going to have a heart attack. Mirana happily congratulated us.
I came back home to see that people were gathered. I asked if zombies arrived in my absence. They asked if it was possible to wipe out all the zombies so we can move freely again. I said it is possible but first we have to get rid of the labs that create these beasties. Only then can we do anything. If we try it otherwise they will wait till we relax and send an army. Pearl sent satellites to detect these menaces. They used ground penetration and thermal imaging. They also sent a satellite that detects a heart beat. This was invented to help find people inside rubbles during earthquakes or other disasters. They promised to find these places. It will take a while so in the meantime we started to load our weapons.
