The cavern walls shimmered faintly as the party retreated, the glow of the Overseer's violet aura still visible even after they'd put significant distance between themselves and the monstrosity. Ashen led the way, his staff alight with a faint guiding spell. Pyro followed closely, muttering curses under his breath, while Aria brought up the rear, her expression unreadable as she occasionally glanced over her shoulder.
"Do you think it's still watching us?" Aria asked softly.
Ashen didn't look back. "Absolutely. Things like that… they don't let prey go easily. It's probably waiting for us to make a mistake."
Pyro snorted. "Let it watch. Next time, I'll shove my sword straight through its chest."
"Next time?" Aria's voice trembled slightly. "Did you not see the numbers? That thing isn't just strong—it's something else entirely. Its presence alone is enough to crush most people."
Pyro rolled his shoulders. "Good thing we're not most people."
