'Where the hell am I supposed to go?' Jayce thought as he held Mr. Paul over his shoulder, running from rooftop to rooftop.
When he saw Mr. Paul from the rooftop, he had forgotten entirely about the vans.
The last thing he expected was for the police to raid the building at the same time he found Mr. Paul.
With the police being a few seconds away from entering the room, he grabbed the old man and rushed out the window.
Now, he was in the middle of the city with no place to go, the police looking for him, and using his only arm to carry a human trafficker.
He couldn't go back to the Mage's Market, he needed someplace that was isolated.
Not wanting to risk the chance of someone spotting him and calling the police, Jayce looked for the nearest empty building.
He only had a couple of hours before the sun rose, and by then, he had to be back at the motel. After a couple of minutes of searching, Jayce found a building where the top floor was for sale.
