In a bustling city with skyscrapers that seemed to challenge the very clouds, a world of quirky possibilities awaited, quite literally. This was a place where heroes and villains duked it out, their powers dictating the dynamics of society. And in this chaotic realm, a lanky boy named Izuku Midoriya dreamt of becoming a hero—but this isn't his story.
"So, we're nearing middle school graduation. You know what this means right?" A boy with straight black hair asked.
Perched atop the school rooftop, a trio sat together, each holding bento boxes, except for one who had a water bottle in hand.
Nagano, a tall boy with curly brown hair, raised an eyebrow. "What are you getting at, Hiroomi? Are you planning something for our middle school graduation?"
Emiko, a girl with long white hair and red eyes, leaned forward with curiosity. "Yeah, spill the beans, Hiroomi. You've got that mischievous look on your face."
The boy named Hiroomi paused, letting the anticipation build up. The roof was quiet except for the distant sounds of people playing soccer down on the field.
"Come on, take this seriously, you two!" Hiroomi yelled, a sense of urgency could be heard in his words. Hiroomi valued efficiency and despised wasting time on matters. There would be time for fooling around, but right now was not one of them.
"Alright, alright, calm down," Emiko said with a chuckle. "We're listening. What's the plan?"
Hiroomi's eyes focused, his gaze glinting with seriousness. "When Izuku Midoriya graduates to U.A, that's when the story will really start and we'll need to have already set up our foundation when that happens."
The three of them weren't normal people. From an early age, they had already shown an advanced level of cognition.
"Haven't we done that already?" Nagano chimed in, asking about the seemingly already accomplished task. "I mean, we've already mastered our quirks for the most part. I've already figured out how to activate 100%, and you two can already fly!"
From the moment their quirks manifested, they immediately began experimenting. At 4 years of age, they had already begun using the scientific method. Using precise measurements, multiple test runs, and documenting to then later analyze the results.
Emiko nodded in agreement upon hearing Nagano's words. "Yeah, why don't we all just apply to U.A? It's not entirely far-fetched that we can easily get accepted with our abilities," she said, radiating optimism.
Hiroomi interjected, sounding slightly bitter. "Well, not all of us have combat quirks, you know," he retorted.
"So what?" Emiko countered, "It's not like crushing the robots are the only ways to gain points."
"No, it's just a waste of our abilities. You're the most hero-like out of all of us, Emiko. You're enough of an asset to go to U.A alone, whilst me and Nagano explore the underworld."
That's because this isn't their first time being alive. Three reincarnators from a different plane, a higher realm. Where the world they are living in now is viewed as merely fiction.
"We've been given this opportunity of a second life. With the power he's given us, I'll make sure we conquer this world," Hiroomi proudly declared.
Emiko's eyes went wide, and her jaw dropped in disbelief as Hiroomi made his statement. She couldn't believe what she was hearing.
Her mind raced to process the implications, and her eyebrows furrowed in a mix of surprise and confusion. Going to U.A alone? That was a lot to take in. She felt a strange mix of pride and uncertainty swirling inside her.
Meanwhile, Nagano's eyes practically bulged out, and he looked like he had just seen a ghost. He couldn't wrap his head around what Hiroomi was suggesting. Exploring the underworld? That sounded both thrilling and terrifying at the same time. He turned his gaze back and forth between Hiroomi and Emiko, desperately seeking some kind of confirmation or reassurance.
A heavy silence hung in the air as Emiko and Nagano exchanged bewildered glances. Their expressions were a jumble of questions, doubts, and a flicker of determination. Clearly, they were both wrestling with their thoughts, trying to make sense of it all in their own way.
Hiroomi, on the other hand, maintained a serious and composed demeanor, a faint trace of smugness flickering across his face as he observed Emiko and Nagano's stunned reactions. His lips curved slightly upward, betraying a sense of satisfaction at the impact his words had made.
"Are you crazy?!" Emiko began to protest, her voice filled with determination.
Ring ring!
But before she could continue, the school bell rang, abruptly ending their recess. Emiko sighed in frustration, her words drowned out by the echoing chime.
Nagano shot her a sympathetic look, understanding her frustration. "Guess we'll have to pick this up later." he said, his tone tinged with disappointment.
Hiroomi's face softened, realizing the timing wasn't ideal. "You're right. We'll find a better time to talk." He enjoyed the intrigue that surrounded their conversation and the impact it had on his friends.
As they gathered their belongings and headed back to the classroom, a sense of anticipation filled the air. The weight of Hiroomi's proposition lingered, patiently awaiting their return and the opportunity to be explored further.
Fifteen, no, sixteen years ago, before the three were even born in this world. They had died in their previous one after falling off a cliff during a class camping trip.
After dying, they had met a being who called itself the Overseer, who offered them a chance to be reborn in a different world with an ability of their choosing. Intrigued by the proposition, they had accepted, and with the Overseer's guidance, they were reincarnated into the world of heroes and quirks.
The three were reincarnated as newborn babies with the memories of their past lives completely intact. Hiroomi Kanbara, Nagano Setsuyo, and Emiko Homura. As they grew up, it was clear that their intelligence and understanding of the world quickly surpassed their peers. At least, that was the case with Hiroomi and Emiko, whereas Nagano was a bit slow when it comes to language.
Since the Overseer couldn't help them by reincarnating them in a location of their choosing, only saying that they will be reincarnated somewhere in Japan, so they had to come up with a way to locate each other in the new world.
"There's no telling what we'd look like after reincarnation, whether we'll even be the same gender or not," explained the would-be Emiko.
He suggested they come up with codenames for each other, write them up in little papers, and scatter them all around the town they had reincarnated into.
But that idea was quickly shot down by Hiroomi, who suggested a more modern approach. Using the internet, he would have each of them go on a public discussion board and create distinct usernames that are also easily remembered, then contact them on that account and use a keyword for confirmation.
But Nagano presented a major flaw, "What if one of us was reincarnated in a place without electricity or internet, and was too financially unstable to afford it or go to a net cafe?" Hiroomi was quite shocked hearing this from the usually muscle-headed Nagano, but he was right.
"Maybe we can consider using Local Networking?" Nagano suggested. "By participating in community events, clubs, or organizations, we increase our chances of encountering each other naturally."
After presenting the different options, the trio reached a consensus. Hiroomi's method was the fastest and easiest, but it required external resources. Emiko's method didn't have as far a reach as Hiroomi's method and it still required external resources. Nagano's method, while extremely time consuming, didn't require any external resources but can be achieved through just actions. So they had agreed on Hiroomi's method, with Nagano's method as a plan B.
Ring ring!
As the bell's resonant tone reverberated throughout the building, a wave of elation washed over the students. Backpacks zipped shut, chairs scraped against the floor, and a flurry of motion filled the hallways as students hurriedly made their way towards the exits.
"Hey, Hiroomi! Come on, explain that underworld domination you said earlier, man!" Emiko entered Hiroomi's classroom with Nagano already with her.
The classroom fell into a hushed silence as all eyes turned towards Emiko as her presence became noticed in the class. Gasps of surprise and excitement rippled through the classroom.
"Hey, that's Homura-san! She's always up to something exciting."
"I heard she's a top contender for U.A."
"Did you know she once single-handedly took down a gang in Musutafu?"
As the classroom fell into a hushed silence, Hiroomi noticed the ripple of excitement that swept through his classmates. Whispers and gasps filled the air, and he could hear snippets of conversations about Emiko's previous exploits and her reputation as a formidable individual.
"Musutafu? Why haven't I heard of this before?" Hiroomi asked Emiko.
Hiroomi, diligently gathering his neatly arranged notebooks, textbooks, and assorted school supplies, meticulously placed them inside his spacious bag, ensuring each item found its designated spot amidst the carefully organized compartments.
"Hehe... sorry about that. I wanted to scout out the main characters, but I ended up getting entangled in a… minor predicament." Emiko flashed a slightly sheepish smile and absently scratched the back of her head.
The trio, their steps synchronized in perfect harmony, proceeded to walk out of the school building, their footsteps echoing faintly against the tiled floors as they traversed the familiar corridors adorned with vibrant student artwork and informative bulletin boards. The buzz of youthful conversations would gradually subside, as the deserted classrooms and vacant corridors stood as silent witnesses to the day's endeavors.
"Were they any relevant characters? Meta Liberation members?
As they emerged from the school's entrance, a gentle breeze greeted them, carrying with it a sense of liberation and possibility. The sun, descending gracefully towards the horizon, cast its golden hues upon the trio, illuminating their path with a warm, comforting glow.
"Could be; almost all of them were Mutant quirk wielders, so they were probably ones who're bitter from being marginalized by society."
Guided by the anticipation of their next destination, the trio made their way towards the nearby train station, following a familiar route that they had traversed countless times before. The lively chatter of fellow students walking alongside them intermingled with the distant hum of traffic, creating a symphony of urban melodies that enveloped their senses.
"How many were there?" Asked Nagano.
"There were six, no, seven of them. Well, I fought seven, but I only took down six of them. One of them got away, but it was only because he could transform into smoke!"
"You let one escape?" Hiroomi asked worryingly.
"I didn't let him, you know? I just lost him. I'm not as fast as either you or Nagano." Emiko's voice was tinged with frustration and a hint of disappointment as she spoke.
As they reached the bustling train station, a vibrant hub of commuting souls, they stood amidst the swirling sea of people, amidst the ebb and flow of hurried travelers, patiently awaiting their train's arrival.
"Well you better catch them next time. It's not good to leave loose ends, especially when it comes to a group of villains."
Emiko shot Hiroomi a look that said it all—playful and annoyed at the same time. Her narrowed eyes and mischievous glint showed she knew exactly what was going on. With a sly half-smile and a hint of her pearly whites, she seemed like she had a clever comeback brewing. The raise of her eyebrows showed she was both amused and fed up, proving she could playfully handle the situation with a touch of irritation. It was a look that basically said, "Oh, you think you know it all, but I've got a few tricks up my sleeve too."
"Speaking of loose ends, you still haven't continued what you said at the roof," Nagano commented.
"Oh, right…"
Upon the awaited moment of boarding, an auspicious union transpired as they settled side by side, the synergy of their connection palpable amidst the cozy embrace of the train's plush seats. Hiroomi would elaborate the grand tapestry of his meticulously crafted plans and exploits.
"In this world, there are two sides, heroes and villains, a bit austere but whatever. So if we wanna conquer this world, we'll have to have control over both. That's why I said it would be a waste of our abilities. Emiko would play the part of a hero and Nagano would play the part of a villain, hence the underworld involvement."
Nagano wondered why he was a Villain. Since he had said that Emiko was the most hero-like out of the three of them, Nagano wondered if Hiroomi thought that he was the most villainous out of them. He questioned what Hiroomi's role would be if he was a Villain and Emiko is a Hero.
Hiroomi would reply with "Politics." Explaining how while they were building their fame and infamy within their respective worlds, he would be supporting them both from behind.
"Well, actually, only Emiko would be in the spotlight.
