Robert Griffith saw that she was safe and sound, and then impatiently scolded her, "If you didn't want to come, then don't come!"
"That's not it!" Cherish Turner hurriedly explained, walking up to him and saying, "Grandpa Griffith, I was baking a cake at home and lost track of time, so I was late!"
Robert Griffith casually wiped his pipe with a handkerchief, seemingly unconcerned, "Why bake a cake when you can just buy one?"
"Many store-bought cakes use vegetable cream, which is not good for the body and high in fat. Since your health isn't great, it's safer to make one myself. I gave the cake to Granny Griffith, should we try some after you finish this round of chess?" Cherish asked expectantly. Robert's wiping motion paused, and he put down the handkerchief and urged her, "Aren't you going to sit down?"
Cherish breathed a sigh of relief and obediently sat down after putting down her bag.
