The chants of many looney followers bellowed in far distant corners all across the Empire.
At the same time, some secretly made plans to become the Next supreme leader of this great faction.

Just because they were all under the Lich, didn't mean they all agreed with each other over the decades and centuries.
They could agree with the Lich being their Lord and True leader, because he was the LICH—an existence with unfathomable power.
But now that he's gone, why should they follow whoever is vying for the top spots?
Already, there was division amongst the cultish group. And within many hidden fortresses, many made plans to eliminate the opposition one by one till they climbed to the top.
But what did all that have to do with Wolfram?
The Lich was DEAD.
That's it. No one else had the power the Lich once held. So the many sects and righteous factions would no donut eliminate those who show their horns too soon.
