Alorna groaned as the sound of an alarm she had forgotten to ensure was set to only once went off in her head making it throb.
The feeling of an unfamiliar texture made her eyes snap open, even if they felt heavy. Having them open didn't change much as it was still rather dark, proving the saying that it is always the darkest before dawn.
Her eyes adjusted to the darkness enough for her to see what was just before her face and give her some clues as to what the strange sensation was that she felt that was far from the familiar feelings her blankets gave her.
Thankfully she held back the sudden urge to scream as the first thing she saw in the darkness was Zeph's face inches away from her own.
The unfamiliar feeling on her skin was something she could not make out in the near-total darkness but as the memories of what she had done to find herself where she was flooded back in fragmented pieces, Alorna had as good guess as to what she felt against her skin other than Zeph's leg.
