Chapter 1933 - Modifying Liuhe Fort

Songshi even enlisted someone to dig a canal and create a stream encircling it. Plans for future development included the excavation and construction of several pools for washing purposes.

Simultaneously, efforts were underway to explore the surrounding wasteland.

Duck and chicken farms were also in the works. Following Qiao Xuan's blueprint, four shallow ponds, each spanning about ten mu, were carved into the valley of the duck farm. A complex network of meandering ditches and waterways interconnected, while various aquatic plants were transplanted during the onset of spring to serve as breeding grounds for the ducks.

The bustling activity painted a vibrant scene. Over 600 individuals were engaged in various tasks, effectively absorbing surplus labor from nearby villages and towns.

Songshi, Liu Fu, and Yang Mu tirelessly oversaw operations day in and day out. Despite having a few capable assistant stewards, decisions still rested heavily on their shoulders.
