"This…" Old man Duke let out a surprised grunt. "So, you went through all that just to make life better for the average vampire… I AM FUCKING PROUD OF YOU, SON!" He stood up, pulling Jake into a firm hug and patting his back.
"It's my duty to make things right," Jake mumbled with a cocky grin. But his expression quickly shifted when Old man Duke spoke again.
"You might have made me proud today, Jake, but the only way you'll truly fill the void in my heart is by getting Zamira pregnant. As strong as you are, it seems even you are struggling with that," Old man Duke teased with a wink as he neatly stacked the documents in front of him and locked them away in a safe.
Jake's eye twitched, blood rushing to his face. "Are you doubting my capabilities, old man?"
"Fufufu, not at all. I just think I may have overestimated your skills with women. Honestly, I believe I was better in my prime," Old man Duke said, his grin widening.
