Everyone eyed the portal. It still only showed a blank screen of dark red. Yet, they knew the being who spoke into their minds was behind that ominous portal.
Kui Mang was the first to speak, "My… My Lord. Are you the great Dark God of the–Ugh…!"
Kui Mang was shoved into the ground. He lay flat on the ground, unable to get up.
"Did I give you permission to speak, worm?" The chilling voice sounded in his mind.
"I'm… I'm sorry, my Lord… I…"
"You are not very bright, are you?" The voice in his mind this time was accompanied by the feeling of a million needles pricking his head.
"Argghhh…!!!" He screamed in pain. He only stopped after screaming for a while.
Silence returned. No one else dared to make a sound. Even the sounds of fighting from the surroundings had stopped. The spirit beasts fled once they sensed the presence behind the portal.
