"Liam, Aunt Leah, Elsa, I want you to come with me to the middle city." He told them.
Unlike what he expected, they didn't react much to his proposal; even Elsa was the same.
Liam glanced at his mother, who had an expressionless look on her face, and Elsa, who had lowered her head and said, "Why don't we talk about it later? We need some time to mourn."
Eric glanced at them before nodding heavily. He then stood up and said, "I understand. I'll come back in the evening."
Saying this, he left the house. He really wanted to stay with them and give them moral support, but he could see Leah, and even Liam, had developed some resentment toward him in their hearts even though they didn't show it.
Though it pained his heart, he understood it. He was, after all, the reason why they lost their husband and father. If he were in their place, he would feel some resentment too, even though he might not blame them. So, he decided to give them time to sort their feelings out.
