Chapter 14 - True identity

The queen is sitting outside in her garden. She is seated in front of a table decorated with plates with food, a tea teapot and flowers. The sky was illuminated by the moon and the stars. Right in front of her is an extra chair. As the Queen takes a sip of tea from her cup, a dark figure appears on the chair in front of her. It's a witch, right next to the witch is massive masccurade. It is 6'10, with a multi-dark coloured pattern, its face is pale, lips are red and smiling from ear to ear and eyes are dark and big, and in its hand is a massive and sharp sword.

"Do you have any news for me?" asked the Queen.

"I do." Said the witch. "I found where the goddess resides."

"And do you have the book needed to capture her?"

"Well... that is a very big problem."

"Really?"

"The book has multiple controversies about its where bout's, most especially the fact that it is very dangerous, also using it comes with a lot of terrible consequences."

"But do you know where it is?"

"Y-yes."

"Then why don't you get it?"

"I-I ... I will find time to get and prepare for the next move."

"Very good." Says the Queen with a smile on her face as she takes a sip of tea. "I will get back to you in a couple of weeks, and I better hear good news."

"As you wish, your majesty."

The witch disappears as the masquerade lifts her from the chair.

Lulu and Agbo are outside in the marketplace. Lulu is standing in front of a massive temple gate. This gate belongs to the temple of all the Gods of death and of the under-world. This is the temple that is most lively at night and the temple that Anubis had told them about. He also noticed that the people around him looked strange. Some people seem to be dressed in different types of fashion from different eras. There are men and women that are dressed in animal skin, fashion from the Victorian era, some in traditional wear, and not just wears; technology as-well. It also seems like no one is bothered about it, nor did they care. Lulu remembered that there was a day when he was looking through one of the vision pots in Oya's shrine. He saw Eve holding a smartphone as she was on a call with Ivan, who was calling her on an old landline phone that needs money to be operated from an old era.

The ram is done exchanging products for another product with a salesman with a strange mask on. Lulu taps on his shoulder.

"Hey." He calls out. "Don't you find it weird that everyone here is dressed differently like they are from different eras?"

"Well, yes," Agbo says as they walk away. "It is weird. Like Oya said, 'This is where some people from the (past) ran here to hide, some are the real man-animals that were mistreated by people from your (world) and some are the gifted of any human that you have ever met while majority of the people here are those who played with something that you people should not be playing with and they just managed to leave there real body back home and end up here."

"Those that mean that Oya brought us to the spirit realm?"

"What?! NO!"

"Then where are we?"

"You are in a realm that is connected to many different realms. This place is very different from the world you know."

Agbo tells Lulu as he points at the night sky. Lulu looks up and notices that there are several colourful beams of light shining among the stars. He also noticed that there were three moons in the sky. One is blue, one is white and bigger than the one in blue and the third is smaller in size and it is also red.

They make their way back home. As they step right in front of the door, Agbo closes Lulu's eyes just as the door opens. Lulu asks the reason why his eyes are covered. Agbo tells him that there is a deity in its true form, and he too is not looking for his sake. When they heard that they were free to open their eyes, they saw the Anubis and Hachiman with Osoosi. Aja and Oya emerge from a massive clay pot that is surrounded by a mysterious sand that is black in colour with sea shells, woods and a strange-looking human skull.

"That was..." said Aja in an enraged tune. "REALLY SOMETHING!!!"

"Well, at least they did not start a fight like last time," Oya says as she gives Hachiman a large box that looks like it is made of flesh and strange strange-looking writings on it. She then turns to Lulu and Agbo standing by the door. "Oh, welcome back, you two. How was the market?"

"It was good." Says Agbo. "We did not see the mushroom and mirror you asked us to get. Sorry about that."

"It's no problem at all. You did your best, and this time Bush baby did not follow you this time."

They both laugh about it as Lulu is confused about that statement. The three gods take their leave as everyone else returns home. Everyone is sitting, watching other people through a massive mirror that covers an entire wall in the middle of the house. Everyone watches in silence then Lulu breaks the silence.

"Oya?" he calls out.

"Yeah?" Oya responded.

"The way we see you... Like the image or form we as humanity see you as, right?"

"Yes?"

"Is that your real image?"

There was a good sixty-second silence in the room before Oya responded.

"Why do you ask?"

"Probably because of what just happened when we arrived home," Agbo says.

"Yeah. The gods that were waiting for you and your sister Aja had transformed into their 'real form,' and if not for Agbo covering my eyes, who knows what would have happened?"

"...Well. No." Said Oya as she sipped from her bottle of wine. "The image you see about us in your society is not a hundred percent true. I'll say it's five percent true. We only appear to you people the way we do only because we don't want the worst to happen, like Zeus, the god of thunder. Apart from that, it is what you people want to see, that is what you expect and want to believe because you humans will always feel above and beyond and madly DISRESPECTFUL!"

It was silent as Oya says that out loud but breaks the silence.

"If you want to know what will happen if you saw any of us in our real form, take a good long look at coffin fifty-five, the tomb of all who did not listen... or I could just tell you, but I'm not that interested in telling you that."

"So... are you telling us or showing us?" Asked Eve.

"Showing you is better," Oya says with a smile on her face.

Oya gets up and moves to a small door that is placed on the ground. Behind that door is a hole filled with sand. She dips her hands into the sand to pull out a dead body wrapped in white and black cloth. She places it on the floor and unwraps the body. Everyone but Agbo they were stunned to see the image of this dead body before them. Oya tells them that this person had seen the true identity of one of the gods in the spirit world, and she takes the body back into the ground as she pulls out another one, but this time, this dead body is normal. Also, something feels a little bit odd about it. Oya tells them that the body they are looking at has seen what angels look like and assures them that the body's cause of death was not by setting eyes on an angel but by the shell shock of seeing a mythical beast.

"So if you ever wonder what we look like behind the image you all know us for remember you may or may not die," Oya says, still smiling.

With that said, everyone returns to what they were doing. Oya goes out of the house and heads straight to the underworld. All the deities of the underworld are present. They are all carrying out their duties alongside the gods of judgment and justice. Oya is where souls are allowed to be reborn and those that are permitted to live once again in the physical world.

"So, anything 'not' so surprising today?" Asked Oya, aiding a young soul.

"So far so good..." said Mictlantecuhtli. "The rate of children dying by the hands of another has increased, those dying from natural causes have remained constant, and those dying from miscarriage have dropped more than abortions. So, nothing new yet, and it's not like it is time for you deities of death to seize your duty for as long as you are demanded to do."

Just as they were talking, Anubis called her to aid with the torments of souls that each have their level of punishments and how it will be carried out. Main while, the witch who was sent by the Queen to find a way to get the most forbidden books of spells. The one for calling and controlling spirits of all types. The witch is not the only one looking for it. They are in the realm of the deities of witchcraft only one problem: anyone who tries to steal any of the books dies quickly. The only way is to make a deal with them or pass their game or die trying.
