Although Cui Que made this dangerous decision entirely based on her free will,
she also didn't want to cause Russell any trouble—for instance, by disappearing silently and inexplicably, leaving Russell to search for her frantically and confused like a headless fly; or possibly even being kidnapped and threatening an unprepared Russell; or even her actions might potentially sabotage a plan that Russell was pursuing.
"Pursuing freedom" should not become a reason to trouble the innocent, nor an excuse to worry those who care about her.
She decided to share her insights and decisions with Russell. This way, if she were to disappear, Russell would at least know where she went.
Cui Que did not wish for Russell to go insane because of this.
No matter what decision Russell made afterward or how he reacted, she would listen earnestly and try her best to accept it.
But she would not change her decision because of this—she had to meet Saran alone.
