Charlotte looked on, amused and exasperated, as Grace scampered off, letting out a slow sigh.
"What, Charlotte, are you dying to know?"
Justin Battleson's deep, pleasant laugh sounded from the other end of the phone, sending a shiver down Charlotte's spine.
"If Charlotte really wants to know, I can tell her."
"No, I don't want to know."
Charlotte knew from Justin's tone that he was definitely up to no good, so she decisively refused.
"Charlotte, how can you reject me so bluntly," Justin's voice carried a hint of grievance.
"Falling for the same trick twice isn't my style."
Reminiscing about a certain incident, Charlotte couldn't help but puff up her cheeks.
Just thinking about that day made the tips of Charlotte's ears turn red.
"Charlotte, I miss you."
Justin's voice came through the phone, filled with a touch of helplessness, but Charlotte's lips were already curling into a smile.
