Yet what they faced was not a man but an ancient monster half a billion years old. Reverend Madness's martial skills appeared inexhaustible, and his defenses were monstrous. Even the combined efforts of these Peak Divine Transcendence attacks could only dent the dark exoskeleton covering his body. Whenever a single blow came close to penetrating that shell, black tendrils of energy would emerge from beneath it, intercepting or redirecting the incoming power.
