The vertical pupil looked more like a child's scribble, a few simple lines standing in the black space, like a picture slapped onto it, devoid of any spirituality.
Yet, in the next second, the vertical pupil disappeared along the established direction, starting with the inner circle and then the arcs on both sides, but as it retracted to the last bit, the lines grew anew. This time they weren't like strokes made with a white pen, but closer to the texture of an engraving, with the lines first forming two arcs and then closing in from the midpoint towards the center into a circle. However, just before they could complete a perfect circle, the engraving lines halted and began retracting.
When it came back to a point again, this point hovered in place for ten seconds before it started moving.
