Tang Yan observed the yellow-robed man's expression and could already guess his intentions. However, he decided to let things unfold, curious to see how the situation would play out. The yellow-robed man turned to Tang Sisi and smiled warmly. "Young miss, your father wishes to see you."
Tang Sisi's eyes lit up with excitement at the news, and she felt a surge of emotions. Having never seen her father or mother since childhood, she felt elated at the prospect of reuniting with her family. With watery eyes, she looked at the yellow-robed man. "Really, I'm going to see Father?" she asked, seeking confirmation. The man nodded gently. "Yes."
Tang Sisi rushed back inside, eager to share the news with her brother, Tang Chen, who had just awoken from his fever. Tang Yan felt a sense of unease, recalling the face of the so-called father and how he had treated him and his siblings. Even when he left Sky Floating City, he felt a sense of relief, as if he had finally escaped a burden.
When Tang Chen heard the news, he frowned, displeased. The saying "Love and respect the young, and they will repay you in kind when they're old" came to mind, but it was clear that the Du family head had never heeded this wisdom.
Just as Tang Chen was about to rebuke the idea of returning to the Du family, Tang Yan and the yellow-robed man entered the room. The yellow-robed man was once again shocked by Tang Chen's appearance, remembering the young boy's lack of cultivation talent when he left the Du family. Now, Tang Chen stood before him, having reached the 8th layer of the late Qi Sensation realm.
"Hahaha, this is great! Our Du family will surely prosper more in this generation!" the yellow-robed man exclaimed, his eyes shining with excitement. "Let's start moving before nightfall. It's only an hour's journey to Sky Floating City."
"Let's wait a little longer, I need to inform the housekeeper," Tang Yan said, scoffing as he brought out his phone to dial a number. The housekeeper he was referring to was Miss Shu, who had finally revealed her identity as a personal disciple of his mother. She had also decided to take on the role of a housekeeper after gaining enlightenment as a thank you.
The line connected, and Tang Yan gave a vague explanation of what was happening. Miss Shu, who was on the other end of the call, hung up and left the restaurant at the construction site, heading back home.
The yellow-robed man, who was grinning from ear to ear, had his smile interrupted by the opening of the door, indicating the arrival of the unknown housekeeper. Miss Shu entered the home with her hair neatly tied in a ponytail. Her eyes surveyed the area, immediately noting the aura of the yellow-robed man.
"He's a 7th layer mid-Qi Refinery realm cultivator, but he seems to lack substance," she thought. Compared to the others she had encountered at the sect and the three old men at the construction site, she knew very well how to gauge the strength of her opponent, and the person right in front of her was someone she wouldn't lose to, even if she didn't gain the upper hand if they fought.
Just like Miss Shu, the yellow-robed man also stared at Miss Shu, noticing her aura. His mind grew wary of her, even though he had a superior cultivation base; he wasn't much of a fighter. He turned around and saw Tang Yan smiling with a smug face.
"I wonder where such a capable person like yourself comes from," he couldn't help but ask, with a clenched fist behind his back.
"I would also like to ask you that same question," Miss Shu frowned.
"Juniors sure do lack manners these days, but I'll let it slide this time since I'm on an errand to bring back the young master and young miss," Miss Shu said, hearing this, looked at Tang Yan to confirm, but only saw his expressionless face staring back at her. Not wanting things to escalate any further, Miss Shu decided to let things be and stopped interfering since she hadn't been instructed to do so by any of the people she served.
A few moments passed in silence, and Tang Sisi was out with her small luggage, with Tang Chen just behind her, holding nothing but the frown on his face.
"Send word to Aunt Tong; we'll be heading to the Du family. In case of any need," Tang Yan finally smiled. His mood and expression were something that very much confused the yellow-robed man.
Before he took the final step out of the house, he brought out the black diamond card he had just collected from the bank and instructed Miss Shu to try to buy half the entire neighborhood along with a small piece of free land. She nodded in acknowledgement of this and waved at the little ones, who were in the arms of the yellow-robed man. "See you soon, Aunt Shu; we'll take some time to come back," Tang Sisi didn't forget to giggle as they exited the gate of their home.
They all boarded a taxi to a luxurious port, with Tang Yan at the front beside the driver and the yellow-robed man with his two siblings at the back seat. He calmly stared at them in the rearview mirror with a calm face as they proceeded towards the given destination.
