Chapter 5 - Reborn

I remembered being unconscious in battle, meeting two people named Kenna and Camell...y? And then getting back in the battle, only to end up being defeated. Then supposedly rejecting a girl because of my workaholism, fighting against a high rank demon whose name I couldn't recall, and then all three of us together as if having a picnic in our last moments, with the earth being destructed a couple of seconds later.

Following that came my meeting with a man in some kind of an interspatial space, where we had some chit-chat and then the last thing was my mind going blank on being enveloped in some kind of light, and bidding goodbye to that man with tears in my eyes.

The next thing I knew, someone was singing a lullaby and I felt I was in their arms because of the closeness of the voice. There was light streaming into my eyes, and despite them being closed, I could feel the heat and brightness of that light.

Yet, it felt incredibly warm and cool, instead of a sickly sweaty type.

I slowly opened my eyes, and was right about being in someone's arms, and we were somewhere in the open facing the sky. A leaf, partially opaque but large enough to fit a fully war-ready warrior was shielding me from the sunlight.

I tried to move a little, and realised I was in the arms of a young lady. I didn't know who she was, but she emitted a calm and soothing aura; just so heavy that I could sleep for years and chances were, I'd not wake up.

About her shone an ocean-green light, with a very slight breeze, and what looked like flowers and leaves rose from beneath and up into the heavens, looking blissful from where I was lying.

Her tone was the peak of being mellifluous, and as we were looking up towards the sky, the flowers and leaves were flowing in a manner similar to that of a tornado, as they circled about in a small circle, with the breeze centered towards us.

She lowered her head to look at me, her eyes sparkling in a combination of green-golden-black, her face slightly oval, her nose and mouth small, but her face in entirety absolutely discerning. I didn't realise I was gaping at her, and noticing that she smiled, slowly reducing the intensity of the lullaby, and then ending it with a soft but high note.

She removed one hand from beneath me and made it face the sky. The flowers and leaves slowed and flew down, crumbling into what felt like mana particles and went in her palm, which she turned into an emerald green orb, and pushed it feebly through my chest, and then the breeze vanished.

Who knows how and what she did and for what reason the orb was inside me, though I didn't feel any different from how I did, even if I was in a trance while listening to the song.

She flapped the same hand backwards, and the giant leaf withered, then crumbled and flew away into the atmosphere.

"Looks like you've finally awoken after all this time," the lady spoke. Her speaking tone was very different from her singing one; not exactly very harsh, but not very sweet as well.

It was like a watered-down honey tone.

"Looks like you've got some kind of a relation with the deities of the upper realm (referred to previously as God Domain) since you took quite a long time to wake up, and have already grown into a boy of five. The name I, Theresa, daughter of nature, provide to you is hence, Osvaldo.

Rise, my son."

The name Osvaldo released an unusual amount of warmth, and just like this lady Theresa, who's apparently my mother in this world had a green light over her, there was a blue-and-green light over me for about 5 seconds, which I could somehow visualise in my head, and then it was gone.

Once again, I realised I was laying on her lap and got up from there hurriedly. I stood up and tried to walk ahead and then face her, when I tripped sideways on a stone and fell.

A great start to getting reincarnated and isekai'd, isn't it?

"Ow," I thought.

Somehow, the fall didn't hurt. That was surprising. Even if it was just a quick and accidental trip-leading-to-a-fall, it actually didn't hurt even a bit when it should've.

"Did you get hurt?" she asked.

I looked up. My new mom was tall and slim, but had excitement and pride shining in her eyes. She wore what looked like a sleeveless partial green tunic, laced on the borders with colourful feathers, but she was barefoot.

"Uh no?" I answered, confused.

She scanned me top to bottom, then nodded satisfactorily.

"Looks like it worked," she answered with pride.

I wanted to ask what she had done but she went on by herself.

"You see this orb?" she asked, and made an ocean-green orb, crystal-like, glistening in all its glory. "I have what we all know as *Nature mana* that is, I can manipulate the mana present in the surrounding areas and bend them to my will, for whatever purpose I want. It's strongest when I'm in an open field, surrounded by trees and plants along with plenty of sunlight so as to keep myself sparkling with mana. With that extreme amount of mana, I can make living beings using grassroots and leaves, or a field for practicing my techniques, or a shade and shield, like the one you were protected in.

The reason why you didn't feel any pain even in that slight fall was because of the orb that I made to go through you. It is a shield which will protect you from any physical damage. It's not within any specific area, so you'll be able to interact with anyone and everyone as you wish to.

It's a tough shield to break, but if it somehow does then I'll repair it," she said and grinned.

It was fascinating enough that she could use nature mana however she wanted to as in my previous life, that was something only the highest order had, and all demons have.

"But the two best things that I can do with this energy are, flying and creating shortcuts to reach home."

With that, she looked about the area, and chose an area a little distant from where we were, where the tree density was higher. Turning in that direction, she flicked her right hand forward, parallel to the ground, and swiped right.

Till something happened, I looked around the area we were in, since all I had done was get reincarnated and isekai'd in a different world, then wake up and accept someone as my mom and get interested in whatever she said.

It was quite a large area, with nothing but greenery all around; no house, no people, no anything, only trees.

There remained a slight breeze still, and it felt nice under the sunlight.

The earth vibrated.

Slightly.

I spun towards those trees.

An illusion took place. Two trees at the front blended, siwrled, and created a dark path; enough dark as if to assure someone that light would not be able to enter the space.

"Come on, let's go home through that," mom said.

I was a little uneasy at going through a path that dark, to someplace I didn't know of, and hence denied.

She took me as being scared and laughed.

"No need to worry, son. It's not like a black hole that will suck you and then destroy you completely. I've made a lot of portals as such, and these are temporary, so no-one would be able to use this portal once we've gone through it.

"Besides, I can only make paths to our house, and not any place that I've been before," she added, slightly embarrassed.

I had no choice, but to believe in her for now even if I should have completely believed her since she was my mom in this world. But then I had just regained consciousness here, so it would be better if I trusted others little by little.

She held my hand, and I looked up to a comforting smile, and then we walked towards the portal. I had no idea what was in reserve for me, though either way I had no choice but to walk in. We went in together, and as I looked back, the outside world slowly vanished, and in we were, completely isolated from where we had come.

The next thing I knew, we were suddenly out in front of a totally normal wooden house, with shrubs at the entrance, and fencing all around.

And then I passed out, while holding her hand.
