Chapter 5 - 5. Her Memories

"Sorry, it was an important call." He sighed, hopefully with this everything would be cleared.

Placing his phone back on the table, he saw Cassandra nod and clutch her silky bedsheet tightly.

"Hmn..."

After that, well... she said nothing else.

"..."

There was silence, it was as if the lady wasn't proactively trying to make a conversation.

"Would you like some clothes?" He asked, she couldn't be walking around with that, or worse, naked... his reactor wouldn't be able to take it.

"Yes, thank you." The beauty accepted with a smile and the man was tasked to go to his wardrobe and find woman's clothes that he doesn't have, hence... the other option is positive.

He didn't have female clothes such as a bra and underwear, but a shirt and joggers he could deliver.

Coming back with some sets, he refrained from giving her shorts since that would be overkill.

"I hope those fit you." They should indeed, but when he looked at her chest, he somehow doubted it.

Cassandra nodded and took the clothes and they remained in a deadlock for what felt like an hour but were merely several seconds, one could easily get lost in those golden eyes of hers.

"P-Please, turn around..." She said shily and it was then that he recalled that he is supposed to be a gentleman in this situation.

"Sorry, go ahead."

The lady changed with him only hearing some rustling before she eventually opened her mouth again with her soft voice.

"You can turn around."

What he saw was a lady wearing his blue joggers and his shirt, they weren't as big for her as he expected them to be her chest was rather constricted and sticking out so much that it left a gap on her belly.

'Aish, you looked less seductive with the sheets' He thought about giving her a jumper but with that size, nothing would help, his mind wandered and recalled that lady, Carol Armstrong from CNN, she just couldn't compare.

*Sigh!*

The lady says where she was previously, she merely limited herself to stick her gaze to his like glue as if she didn't care about anything else.

He went to the fridge nearby and she followed his entire trail with his gaze, he took out two cups of water in case she needed something to drink.

'Aliens aren't weak against water but they might be against coffee...'

"Thank you." She said again, taking a sip before regaining herself again.

Her whole behaviour and mannerism were so odd for him, it was as if she was the quietest child in the classroom, it was... cute.

"I think we should begin by introducing each other, my name is Tony Stark, and yours?"

"C-Cassandra..." She spoke with a tonality that indicated doubt.

"Cassandra what?" He liked her name.

"I don't know... my surname." She said with a tilted head as if trying to recall, but an intent to recall would end up with one feeling, pain.

'Amnesia?' He thought immediately, a troublesome situation.

"Do you know what happened to you before you came here?" His interrogation began.

"I don't know."

"What memories do you have?"

"I... s-something ugly, a man... h-hitting me... some names. Kazuya, Arcadia... Windy May, Teslad, Lucy... names, I don't know who they are, I just know the names..." Aside from confusion and darkness, there was nothing else in her mind.

[She does have amnesia, sir, though preliminary if she still holds concurrent memories, it might be due to grey tissue damage.] Jarvis added.

"But she can regenerate... if her brain is damaged can't she regenerate it as well?"

While Jarvis and Tony engaged in a conversation, Cassandra was further confused that somebody was speaking even when there was no one around.

"What is that? who is that?" She asked, looking sideways only for Tony to address her worries.

"Don't worry, it is my assistant an artificial intelligence called J.A.R.V.I.S. yours is quite a complicated case, Cassandra." Tony rubbed his forehead not knowing what to do with this alien.

"..." The woman lowered her head in dejection, everything was so confusing that she didn't even know what to do or where to begin, all she knew is that at least she had arrived in a good place, at the very least, the man in front of her looks comprehensive.

'Should I really take her to a doctor? but who do I trust enough to check her...?' Tony thought, she didn't have any injuries, but her amnesia had to be addressed, moreover... her regeneration.

He knew a lot of professional doctors, but none of them that wouldn't want to dissect Cassandra the moment they put their hands on her, he was already tempted to do so himself after seeing that healing factor, but he couldn't... at least not yet, she's just a lady that doesn't know where she is, it would be extremely evil.

Just looking at her frightened self, apparently not knowing what was going to happen to her, was enough to stop him from trying anything stupid.

How could he not have thought about it? that regeneration... how could he not have thought to somehow save his own decaying life by using it?

"I'm sorry, if I can't stay..." She began, feeling that she was causing trouble for him just by staying here.

"Where are you going to go?"

"I don't know... somewhere I won't... cause trouble for you, if you don't want me..." She looked down and clutched her chest, which happened to grow pronunciation due to this action, having the genius swallow a mouthful of saliva as a result.

'Who wouldn't want you!?' He bit his lips and threatened to yell.

Fixing up his tie, he gave the aggrieved lady a brief glance.

"It's not that I don't 'want' you, Cassandra... it is just that the situation is complicated... I don't know where you come from but this place is definitely not it, you don't have documentation, you have amnesia and basically, you're pretty much an alien anyone with enough resources in this world would put their hands-on... moreover... the way you speak... you're not proficient in this language, are you?" He had noticed, the way she spoke was slow and steady as if she was always trying to put the words in place before saying them.

"Eh? no... I don't know, it came out on its own..." She had no explanation for anything, everything was so instinctive.

"Do you want to lay down and sleep? or eat something?" He thought that it was enough for now as she was not in the right mood for answering questions and he is not either.

"Won't you throw me away?"

"I won't... you can stay here until we realise what's best, but after today's incident we may have to temporarily move to an apartment." He figured that in the next few days this entire area is going to be closed down and he didn't want her close to this villa by the time it happened.

"I thought you would... thank you for being comprehensive with me, I think I'm usually... thrown away, that's how I feel" she mumbled, dejected.

"Hah?"

He didn't understand what she meant and Cassandra wasn't in a rush to explain, it was comfortable to feel without memories and endless sorrow without an apparent cause to it.
